During today’s Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata announced that a fighter ballot will be opened for fans to suggest new characters for Super Smash Bros. Available on the Smash Bros website, the ballot will allow fans to directly share their suggestions with the Smash Bros team. The ballot is open to all Nintendo characters from any Nintendo game, so Zelda characters are obviously open for suggestion…

GameStop is having a hard time maintaining stock of the New Nintendo 3DS XL, though it doesn’t appear to be their fault (or Nintendo’s). Still, they are setting aside some of the stock they have to offer a bundle which, arguably, doesn’t really save you any money at all. For $285 you can get a black or red New Nintendo 3DS XL with physical copies of Majora’s Mask 3D and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS along with a eGuide for Majora’s Mask 3D. Technically, you can call this a deal, since the eGuide costs $9.99. That or you can just head to the store and buy this all individually…

Back in October, we told you about Harmony of Heroes: a free, fan-made Super Smash Bros. tribute album. Love it as much as we do? Luckily for you, it’s just received an 112 minute expansion named Final Smash, and it features songs inspired by the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros

We have seen handheld/console connectivity in Zelda games before, such as the Tingle Tuner in Wind Waker, and the GBA connectivity in Four Swords Adventures. It’s been ten years since the last attempt. With Super Smash Bros. for 3DS able to connect to the Wii U version (serving to transfer custom characters, or function as a controller), what would you think about this for a Zelda game?

With Super Smash Bros. Wii U only a day away from release in North America, and only a little longer than a week in most other areas, reviews have started to come in from far and wide, and the general consensus seems to be that this game is absolutely amazing. With reviews more favorable than nearly any other game this year, and tons of perfect reviews from a variety of gaming publications, it’s likely that Smash will be one of the best games we see in a long time.

Metacritic—a website that counts the aggregate professional review scores of all kinds of video games—has given the game a…

We have uploaded videos depicting complete gameplay of all the Zelda stages in Smash Bros. Wii U,  both in their original forms and the omega versions. We’ve also tried to create our own stage using the Stage Builder, loosely based off of the Dark World from A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds.

Check our YouTube channel for more footage from our review copy of the game, and be sure to check in here tomorrow to see our review; with only three days left until the North American release of the game, and about a week longer for the European release…

We’ve just uploaded footage to our YouTube channel showing exactly how all the Zelda items in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U work, and it’s certainly amazing; they look and feel way better than they did on the 3DS, and it’s great to finally see exactly how they’ll shape up on the Wii U version of the game.

The list of items includes old classics like the Heart Container and the Bunny Hood, as well as tons of new ones, like the Beetle, Fairy Bottle, and the famous Cuccoo…

With the release of the fantastic The Legend of Zelda x Mario Kart DLC last week for Mario Kart 8, it’s clear that Nintendo has come to terms with a feature of modern gaming that many of us love to hate. While those who have played the aforementioned pack are unlikely to say this was a mistake, this Friday will see the release of a new Nintendo experiment in North America; and it’s name is amiibo…

BitBlock, a website that constantly uploads HD footage of 3DS and Wii U games for our enjoyment, just gave us tons of great new footage from the Stage Builder and the All Star Mode in Smash Bros. Wii U, and it looks absolutely stunning.

As we know, the All Star Mode in this game is very similar to the one in the 3DS version, with the simple change that the order of characters has been reversed; rather than fight the older characters, like Pacman and Mario, first, and progressing to the newer fighters, you start with the newest fighters and slowly go down.

The Stage Builder, on the other hand, has gone through a complete overhaul…

Nintendo recently gave us tons of information on the new Amiibo figurines in a video, and finally announced the release date for these figures in North America and Europe.

It seems that, in Europe, the next wave of Amiibos will be split between two release dates; the first section, containing Rosalina, Bowser, Lucario, Toon Link, Sheik, and Ike will be released on January 23rd, and the second section, containing Shulk, Sonic, Megaman, King Dedede, and Meta Knight will come out on February 22nd.

North America has fared a little worse…
