On June 6th, at 11 AM EDT, the Nintendo World Store in New York City will be holding its last Super Smash Bros. tournament. They hinted earlier this week that the prize would be “legendary,” and it would seem they did not disappoint. The store recently announced via Twitter that the prize in the tournament this Saturday will be a pair of tickets to The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses…

ReDeads are without a doubt some of the most menacing monsters in the Zelda series. Occupying the darkest crevices of Hyrule, these zombie-like creatures look and behave like animated corpses. Nintendo has offered contradicting facts about ReDeads’ undead status, with sources unclear if they are the “living dead” or merely “clay monsters.” YouTuber MasaeAnela recently sifted through the facts in her Extra Info series, arguing that these unsettling creatures truly are the dead brought to life by Ganon…

During today’s Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata announced that a fighter ballot will be opened for fans to suggest new characters for Super Smash Bros. Available on the Smash Bros website, the ballot will allow fans to directly share their suggestions with the Smash Bros team. The ballot is open to all Nintendo characters from any Nintendo game, so Zelda characters are obviously open for suggestion…

It’s been a couple of days since the “Super Smash Bros. Wii U 50-Fact Extravaganza” and there are still things we haven’t told you about. The newest entry in the series has tons of new modes, but there’s one that stands out as the best way to rake in all of the goodies…if you’re good enough. Special Orders Mode brings back a concept similar to Melee‘s Challenge Mode, but really kicks it up a notch. Putting forth the effort in Special Orders makes getting those stat boosting items and trophies much less time consuming. This mode is broken down into two sub-modes: Master Orders and Crazy Orders…

A Smashing New Reveal

October 24 2014 by Legacy Staff

As of recent we have had several news leaks and photo leaks from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Yesterday’s Pic of the day was surprising at the least. Masahiro Sakuri had released an image of a CG hand holding a Nintendo Zapper, ya know, the Duck Hunt gun. What was even more surprising was the fact that IT WAS A SHOT OF A CHARACTER REVEAL SCENE FROM SUPER SMASH BROS! Now many have come to speculate who this mysterious hand may belong to? Or who is Diddy Kong fighting in the TV? They’re most likely the same person, considering Nintendo doesn’t reveal to much about their games as is.  But what I personally am asking is will this be an exclusive to the Wii U version or an add on for both platforms? The new Smash Bros. already has various differences such as maps and mini games like Smash Run being a 3DS exclusive, so the chances of this is likely.

Now as for speculations towards the new unique character, few can be made off of the image. A common idea is that it’s Ridley from the Metroid series. That’s a great idea, but I have an idea as to whom it may, or rather whom HE may be. If we look back a few months ago to April, specifically the April first, we can recall pranksters trying to announce Nester as a new Smash character. For those who don’t know, Nester was essentially the mascot of Nintendo Power, featuring in several comics spanning the magazine’s lifetime. I believe that they weren’t far off, or possibly Nintendo took from their idea. It all makes sense. From the blurred, yet present color schemes of the TV character, to the hand holding the NES Zapper. His moves could have their ties to his comics or be something like Kirby, but without having to steal them. But I mean, its just a theory (enters MatPat).
