Last week, we featured an amazing stop motion video featuring none other than our hero in green, Link, using nearly everything in his arsenal to take down monsters. At the time of this writing, that video has reached over 73,000 views on YouTube, unsurprisingly. We were so captivated with this animation that we contacted the man behind it to learn a bit more about how it came to be. Not only did he answer our questions, but he gave us exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of the process, and provided hints about what stop motion animation adventures could be next for Link.  Head inside for the details!

If you ever wanted to see Link battle giant monsters with every weapon in his arsenal, you’ll want to check out this action-packed stop motion video by animator Johnny McHone. If you’re a diehard Zelda fan like we are, this just might be the best three minutes of your day.

This isn’t the only work done by McHone, an animator from Seattle, Washington. His website is filled with other stop motion animation work, many of them in the form of Vines. He also has some other videos in his YouTube channel, but this looks like his only Zelda project. Let’s hope it’s not his last…

So there has been a rather cryptic announcement of the possibility of a Zelda television series, yet all know that it’ll be a while before we hear anything more solid about the project. For now, though, here’s something to pacify everyone’s yearning. Vine user Johnny McHone has been releasing a creative and entertaining stop-motion series based on the Legend of Zelda since January this year.

We love it when fans get together and do amazing artwork. From drawings to jewelry to carpentry, Zelda fans are talented in all kinds of fields. In the past we have seen many eye-popping, dramatic and accurate portrayals of some of our favorite characters, but now we get the opportunity to see a different kind of video from a YouTuber named AWE me. YouTube user Raff365 has recently created a paper cut stop-motion video of the early moments from The Legend of Zelda. The stop-motion video covers Link’s early adventure, acquiring the sword, defeating Octoroks, and entering the first dungeon. It lasts just over a minute and is rather simplistic, but it is certainly a job well done. Go ahead and make the jump to watch the video.

Ever wondered how Link’s wall merging ability would look in real life? Thanks to YouTuber Talha Aamir, A Link Between Worlds has been made into a stop motion live action short featuring both 2D and 3D versions of Link. Rather than facing the  familiar tektite, boss, or even Ganon, Link faces the evil of an adorable stuffed feline. Hit the jump to see Link literally merge into a stop motion montage!

The guys on Machinima have made an interesting new stop motion animated video staring Link on another adventure. The video is made up of over 4000 images using the Skyward Sword Link action figure and features sounds and music from the games. Youtube user Badwomen55 uploaded a video showing off his stop motion skills with a short animation featuring Legend of Zelda. The video is just under three minutes long and shows Link roaming a labyrinth in the exact style the first game in the series. Even though it closely follows one of the original eight-bit labyrinths, the video also includes many other characters that did not appear until later such as Epona, Wolf Link, the King of Red Lions, and Ezlo….

The guys that brought us the stop-motion Tetris animation on Minecraft are back and this time they have created an animation using the Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.
