Hello again Zelda Dungeon readers and welcome to another Timeshift Thursday feature! I must express my sadness in not being able to write a feature last week yet it’s great to be back and I hope you will forgive me. Anyhow, I look forward to exploring another iconic area in the Zelda series as this week I’ll be covering a special section found in Majora’s Mask. Let me get this straight first, though. I have never played Majora’s Mask at…

Over the past several weeks, YouTube user, Smooth McGroove, has been gaining views and subscribers because of his original take on the songs from the Legend of Zelda series. He presents all of his songs in an a capella style using only his voice. Some of the songs he has covered include the “Song of Storms”, “Song of Healing”, “Gerudo Valley”, and the Legend of Zelda overeworld theme. Yesterday, he uploaded a new video of one of my favorite songs,…

This review is going to be really weird for me to write. Stone Tower Temple has long been my favorite dungeon of the Zelda series, even though I’ve never committed to saying it’s the best one. I’ve always loved the dungeon for its concept and style, but design-wise it probably isn’t the best. As with Great Bay Temple, my opinion about the game has matured during my last run through the dungeon: now Stone Tower Temple makes me feel both…

Most people think of words that are spelled the same backwards as they are forwards when they hear “palindrome.” And if you’re anything like me, you think of Monty Python’s “Parrot Sketch” (“That’s not a palindrome, the palindrome of ‘Bolton’ would be ‘Notlob!’”) But a palindrome really just refers to anything that is the same backwards as forwards, including music. According to Did You Know Gaming, the music for the Stone Tower Temple from Majora’s Mask is a palindrome. Check…

The first four Zelda games have largely similar, and mostly iconic, dungeon music. It’s generally energetic, mysterious, and indicative of danger. The Legend of Zelda’s dungeon music could even be called sad; but for the most part, what followed was a host of very similar themes, to set up similar atmospheres and a unified feeling for the dungeons of these games. Ocarina of Time’s themed dungeons were notably different. Perhaps due in part to the 3D, but also building on…

Happy Thanksgiving! Our music selection for this week comes from youtube user JumpmanFR. It is a guitar and recorder cover of the Stone Tower Temple theme from Majora’s Mask. This arrangement for classical guitar gives a different perspective on the song. I love how classical and eerie this version sounds. I encourage everyone to check out his youtube page for many more great Zelda related covers. What do you guys think? Do you like this arrangement? What’s your favorite arrangement…

This week’s musical selection comes from Daboredboyz youtube channel. It is a two piano arrangement of the Stone Tower Temple theme from Majora’s Mask. This is often considered one of the best songs from MM and the entire Zelda series. This is one of my personal favorite versions of the song. This arrangement for two pianos is great. I always encourage doing music not only alone, but with a group. What do you guys think? What are your favorite Majora’s…

A little while back Austin over at Nintendo Everything posted what he thinks are the best 3d Zelda temples in the entire series. He created the Top 3 list in a quick video format and you can view the embedded video by clicking read more. His list of top 3 dungeons came in as the follows… 3. Great Bay Temple (Majora’s Mask) 2. Lakebed Temple (Twilight Princess) 1. Stone Tower Temple (Majora’s Mask) I personally am a bit shocked that…
