Zelda Dungeon’s latest interview with Eiji Aonuma highlights many questions that are on every fan’s mind right now; however, one of the most pressing may be Miyamoto’s role in the development of the latest Zelda game announced at E3, Zelda U. Of course, Miyamoto is world renowned for his masterful work on many Zelda games and truly is the father of the series. Lately there have been growing concerns as to what direction the franchise might take once Miyamoto finally steps down from his podium. Could the hotly anticipated Zelda U be the last Zelda game that Miyamoto has a hand in? Click past the jump to find out more.

Ten years ago, the yearly Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) saw one of its most jaw-dropping reveals in a long history of memorable video game announcements. At the tail end of Nintendo’s press conference, the Japanese game company had one last surprise in store. The throng of game enthusiasts crowding the auditorium sat in near-silent anticipation as it set its final trailer in motion. The lights dimmed as heroic music played over scenes of an unknown hero galloping towards a hostile…

Minecraft has been giving fans with the patience and creativity the tools they need to pay tribute to some of their favorite movies, TV shows, and video games. Whether it’s making a 1:1 scale model of the U.S.S. Enterprise from Star Trek, or a life size model of Hogwarts from Harry Potter, the seemingly unlimited resources and space in the game have inspired countless players to reconstruct their favorite environments from other games. Kezsonaj, a member of the Minecraft forums, has spent roughly six months recreating the world of Ocarina of Time from scratch. The time and detail put into this project is nothing short of impressive, and the map will soon become playable to anyone who wants to access it. Well, more like a minute and ten seconds, but who cares? Zelda lore is often complex and confusing for those who truly get into the franchise. Filled with split timelines, constantly revived villains, and confusing methods of time travel, the events leading up to each title have confused many.

But this isn’t for Zelda veterans; it’s for you, the newcomers to Zelda, that this video is meant for. Throw in a heavily abridged description of events and a few humorous audible and visual jokes, and you’ve got a masterpiece. You’ll chuckle, you’ll cry, you might even remember a suppressed memory or two about the CD-i games…so be sure to watch and enjoy. Hop inside to watch the video!

One of the things I would like to see in future Zelda games is for characters to have voices rather than have the speech bubbles appear. Giving actual voices to the characters makes the gameplay more immersive. One of the big questions that would arise is who would voice Link. According to VGFacts, Charles Martinet, known for voicing Mario, Donkey Kong, Luigi, Toadsworth as well as other characters and games, made a request to provide Link’s voice but he was…

Link, Hero of Hyrule, and Princess Zelda. Fans of the series

everywhere dream of the game that will finally give us the romantic

relationship between them that we all

know exists. Fans drool over the thought of the two characters, who are

obviously destined to be together, actually being together. After all, Link is

the Hero of Zelda’s kingdom and comes to her rescue every single time she is in

trouble. They help each other and guide one another through the darkness of

Ganon’s plots. And for the goddess’s sake, is it too much to ask for one kiss???

But…are we missing something? Something that the game

developers have made clear, yet we are so focused on the “love” between the two

that we miss it? OR is this just another theory we can chock up to some fan’s

wild imagination?

To find out what theory this is, read more!

Eiji Aonuma and Shigeru Miyamoto are two of the most renowned game developers in history. They’ve worked together on a number of fantastic Zelda titles, and each built up their own reputations as gaming legends. We’ve heard several times before that Miyamoto-san is more than willing to push Aonuma to the edges of his creativity in order to make a fantastic game, but today, Aonuma-san has spoken up about the relationship between the two of them and the reverence Aonuma has for Miyamoto.

“The time I have spent working with him is even longer than my relationship with my father, so I really should be able to read his mind by now. I am still surprised by his opinions, and I am far away from reaching Mr. Miyamoto’s level of perspective. When you get to my age, the number of people pointing out your faults become quite limited. So in this sense too, I would like him to forever give opinions on the products that we can create.” —

I certainly hope Miyamoto lives long enough to give his opinions “forever.” But alas, I don’t think anyone has managed to solve that problem…

Recently, Did You Know Gaming? has shared with us some interesting trivia of the famous voice we all love and know as Mario, and his hopes to potentially voice Link. Voice actor Charles Martinet is widely known for voicing various characters within the Mario series ever since his first Mario debut in 1995. Who knows how he would have interpreted his voice to suit Link? Even though Link hardly speaks, with the exception of his signature variations of “Hay-yah!”, Miyamoto…

Who hasn’t thought about the idea of a movie based on The Legend of Zelda? With how many games there are in the series there would be plenty of material to create an amazing fantasy adventure. A lot of game series have been turned into movies in the past; Silent Hill was pretty good, Mortal Kombat was great and Super Mario Bros. was… quite different from the games! There have been several attempts by fans to create a Zelda movie…

Miyamoto has revealed that he’d like an A Link to the Past remake on the 3DS, but he’s wanted it for quite a bit longer than you’d think. Aonuma revealed in an interview with Spike that since they first made the 3DS, Miyamoto has been bugging him to make A Link to the Past on the 3DS. As a result, Aonuma made A Link Between Worlds instead of a follow up to Zelda NES or Zelda II.

Mr. Miyamoto has always been on me about making

A Link To The Past for the 3DS. Just kind of constantly in my ear about that. When I would do it was up to me, but it’s kind of been something that has been on my plate… Ever since the 3DS existed. He’s always saying, “Why haven’t you made it yet? Why haven’t you made it yet?”

It may not be a remake, but it helps fulfill both Miyamoto’s desire for a Link to the Past remake along with the fans wanting for a new title, and it certainly looks like it’ll be a great addition to the franchise. Read on to see the entirety of what Aonuma had to say!
