Yesterday, Japan saw the release of a brand new batch of amiibo, including Toon Link and Sheik. While we were aware that the Toon Link amiibo (like its non-toon counterpart) would unlock a spinner weapon in Hyrule Warriors, we weren’t completely sure if Sheik was going to offer anything more than randomized weapon unlocks in the game. Well, today it has been revealed that the Sheik amiibo’s only function is to, once a day, unlock a three star weapon or better for her character in Hyrule Warriors…

During the Nintendo Direct a couple days ago, we received clarification regarding the upcoming Majora’s Mask DLC pack for Hyrule Warriors. While we already knew its release day and the two characters to arrive with it, we were only thrown a hint as to what the new costumes would be. Now, with some official art and screenshots, we know exactly what we’re getting, and yes, it’s what we all expected – but a little different than we pictured it…

While Nintendo finally ended the primary debate regarding Sheik just this year, between Hyrule Warriors and Super Smash Bros. For Wii and Nintendo 3DS, we can hardly forget the secretive member of the Sheikiah.  And although these games were both great for enjoying her return (and in HD, no less), we have yet to see her return in a main series entry. But is there good reason for the conspicuous absence of this character?

A Reddit frequenter going by the alias ‘Feefernet’ recently repainted a GameCube controller to represent certain characteristics related to Sheik. Obvious elements the controller’s face shows are the light and dark blue paint job in the style of Sheik’s debut outfit from Ocarina of Time, along with a bandage pattern around the handles, and the symbol of the Sheikah tribe above the Start button in red. Feefernet responded when asked how he had created this fan mod.
