Stories of valiant knights, princes and other heroes who fight for their beloved ladies are some of the oldest and most beloved stories in human history. Perhaps even THE oldest, depending on your interpretation of the Epic of Gilgamesh. So it was to be expected that a concept as basic as fighting for those you care about eventually ended up in The Legend of Zelda, or at least have fans ascribe it to individual games. But is there any truth…

Got thousands of dollars just laying around unused? If so, eBay has quite the item up for grabs. For just $5,000, one lucky buyer can have a completely normal Zelda amiibo with no rare characteristics whatsoever. That’s right, nothing sets this figure apart from other Zelda amiibo. The average price range for one on eBay is between $10 and $20, according to sales data…

Amiibo’s Wave 2 has finally arrived (some of Wave 2 arrived a little earlier for some lucky Looters at LootCrate. Guilty as charged), and Amiibo like Luigi, Pit, Little Mac, and more are finally hitting store shelves. Of course, for us Zelda fanatics, one stands out above all, and that’d be Princess Zelda. And in a video uploaded by NihongoGamer, we’re going to see the Princess Zelda Amiibo, unboxed. We’ll even see a battle between a Real Zelda and Amiibo…

While Nintendo finally ended the primary debate regarding Sheik just this year, between Hyrule Warriors and Super Smash Bros. For Wii and Nintendo 3DS, we can hardly forget the secretive member of the Sheikiah.  And although these games were both great for enjoying her return (and in HD, no less), we have yet to see her return in a main series entry. But is there good reason for the conspicuous absence of this character?

As well as we know how the match-up between Link and Ganon turns out (unless you happen to be in THAT part of the timeline), it’s rare for us to take a step back and create other battle scenarios between the three wielders of the Triforce.  And while a fight between Zelda and Ganon would be make more sense (and will likely be brought up soon), for today’s Daily Debate, we ponder the outcome of a skirmish involving the Hero and Heroine of the series….

Best Buy has another round of deals coming out this Sunday. The big one out of all of these is the “Buy 1, Get 1 40% Off” sale they have on all 3DS and Wii U titles from Nintendo. This offer is in-store only, as they have a separate online deal for a $20 gift card with the purchase of two select games. Best Buy is also offering a sale where you can save $25 on the Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land Wii U Bundle, along with a 10% discount on all eShop cards.

That’s not all, though…

Japan’s first wave of amiibo figures, consisting of both the first and second Western waves, is now officially out in stores. YouTuber NihongoGamer has taken the liberty to show us an up close look of Princess Zelda, along with some gameplay footage of the amiibo in action. It actually looks surprisingly better than what I had originally thought.

First thing we see is that, just like the others, her pose is based on her official art from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. The detail…

Ocarina of Time was revolutionary in its own right as the first 3D Zelda and pioneering a video gaming style which would later be recreated in series such as Okami and Starfox. Another revolutionary point which current developers could perhaps still learn from is the plethora of strong, balanced female characters. Initially I wanted to write about the Gerudo tribe, and perhaps focus on their status as an all-female society. As I thought more and more about the direction this would take, I realised that despite the Gerudos’ status as a literal warrior race, the other females featured in Ocarina of Time are no strangers to courage, strength, and conflict, and it would be unfair to exclude them from an article as such. Seeing these women as developed characters and often excellent role models is amazing for a game released in 1998, when the gaming industry still seems to struggle sometimes with exactly that, today in 2015.

A few weeks ago, we learned that Hyrule Warriors would be receiving amiibo compatibility, specifically with the Link amiibo. Finally, during yesterday’s exciting Nintendo Direct, we learned that this interaction will unlock a new weapon for the hero: the spinner. Along with a trailer showcasing Link cutting down his enemies with the Twilight Princess item, we were informed that all other amiibo compatible with Smash would work with Hyrule Warriors, albeit in more limited capacities (e.g. unlocking items, materials, etc.). Today, however…

As is natural with a new game, a glitch has been found in Hyrule Warriors by Tumblr user presidentlaghosta. This glitch features Princess Zelda singing her lullaby while she uses Lana’s summoning gate. The link to the video can be found post-jump!
