Nintendo certainly prizes one of its most important franchises, The Legend of Zelda, so it would make sense that the teams chosen to create each Zelda game are carefully crafted. Making a Zelda game is a serious ordeal, and all of the people who consistently work on them, Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, and Hiromasa Shikata, for example, take their jobs seriously. This isn’t to say they don’t have fun creating the games, but certainly the Zelda games leading up to and…

Time is concept that is very common within the Legend of Zelda series; with 16 installments over 27 years, the series has brought us a total of six games which have used the idea of time in some manner. Time has also played a factor in the grand scheme of Zelda in the form of the timeline itself. Ocarina of Time has three alternate outcomes — two of which were a consequence of Princess Zelda sending Link back in time…

Or more importantly, facing the mistakes of your past, which is the title of a recent GenGAME article by Dathen Bocabella. Dathen takes a look at one of the lessons Ocarina of Time teaches all players, but something that’s perhaps more revealing to the young teen to young adult demographic that comprises many of the Zelda fans. We all have to face our past, and Ocarina of Time does a good job with little hints showing that even fictional character need to, too. Hit…

Link is kind of a ladies’ man; tons of Zelda girls adore Link. And who could blame them? It’s a generally understood fact that effeminate guys are often found especially attractive, and let’s face it: Link is a little bit of a girly dude. But he’s also manly and heroic, so clearly he’s quite a catch. Because of their abundance, it’s honestly pretty hard for jokes about Link’s many admirers to make me laugh anymore. The gag isn’t just a…

There was a lot of confusion two weeks ago when I wrote about the overworld theme of the original Legend of Zelda and other games that used it. After all, I left out four distinct games which contain three excellent versions of the song, so anyone’s confusion was well merited. Still, there is method to my madness here: I intentionally saved the Game Boy titles for today’s feature, and I plan to cover Majora’s Mask alongside Ocarina of Time next…

Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on deviantart artist tunetherainbow‘s Zelda fanart, “Ending to a Legend”. In this fanart it features the artist’s own interpretation of A Link to the Past’s ending. Link and Princess Zelda have just laid the Master Sword to rest for what is considered to be the last time. The two are walking away from the pedestal holding the legendary sword and a golden emblem of the Triforce is shown on the ground before them. The artist…

GameTrailers has updated one of their Pop Fiction Episodes. That one being specifically about the legendary Chris Houlihan room that can be found in the Zelda game: A Link to the Past. The room itself can only be found using certain methods and the room’s layout consists of blue rupees, a telepathic tile, and a water-covered floor. The reason behind the room’s existence is because back in 1990 Nintendo Power magazine had a contest where one had to take a…

Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on Deviantart artist Madec-Brice‘s “Link contre Ganon”. This fanart depicts the scene where Link first encounters Ganon in A Link to the Past. Link has his sword and shield at ready and is about to start fighting the evil pig. The light coming in from the windows illuminates the battle area very well and allows us to get a good look at the two opponents. One can also see the Triforce floating behind Ganon waiting…
