Zelda Youtuber and theorist GameOverJesse has released another awesome theory, this time looking at Majora’s Mask and the similarities between adult Link and Fierce Deity Link. The theory also tells of an idea that Majora and the Fierce Deity are perhaps counterparts to Hyrule’s Link and Ganondorf, imprisoned in masks rather than resurrected iteratively. Make the jump to check out the video!

Last week we featured a fan’s rendition of South Clock Town made in Unreal Engine 4. This time around, you should check out Vimeo user Michael Eurek’s Unreal Engine 4 creation, Zora’s Domain. The detail and lighting themselves seem quite difficult to put together. Adding the theme of the Zora’s domain and other sound effects has created an overall near perfect image of what you might think Zora’s Domain looks like in real life. Go ahead and make the jump…

For the sixth week in a row, the first 3D Zelda title, Ocarina of Time, is still in second place in the Wii U eShop sales charts. As we stated before, Ocarina of Time simply won’t go away. Trailing behind in 3rd place is Mario 64, and in first place is a more modern game: Splatoon. This begs the question: when will Ocarina of Time slip out of the top 5?

Interestingly enough, another Zelda title has made an appearance on the charts this week…

YouTube animator Cuccolover has released the first trailer for his upcoming animated series, The Hero of Time Saga. This series will, as his Facebook page claims, be based on Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, likely retelling both stories. It is not yet clear whether certain liberties will be taken to change what happens to the titular hero, but either way, the trailer sows off the rather impressive visuals Cuccolover has made entirely in Flash, and it looks like it…

The debate around Sheik’s “true” gender, which raged in the Zelda community for years, was allegedly put to an end with a proclamation from Bill Trinen of Nintendo America stating Sheik was a woman. In fact, our article on this announcement went down to be our most-viewed article yet. The debate around Sheik’s gender turned on whether or not Princess Zelda physically changed her body (including genitals) when becoming Sheik or if she simply wore an outfit to disguise herself. But in reality, this debate has centered on the wrong question, focusing on irrelevant particulars that fail to take into account who the persona Sheik really is and what he (that’s right HE) tells us about Princess Zelda, the Zelda franchise, and how conservative Nintendo can be…

YouTuber Cuccolover has launched a brand new teaser trailer for the Hero of Time Saga. While the saga is based heavily on the events in Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, there will be variations to the story as it will be taking place from Link’s perspective. But wait, don’t the games do that? According to Cuccolover’s Patreon page, a key difference will be seeing the psychological effects of his adventure on Link himself, something that isn’t wholly present in the games. The goal still seems to be for Link to be silent, so instead of talking he has created…

We’ve talked at length over the years about how much joy and frustration we have gotten out of remakes – heck, we’ve done this with the original games themselves. What we haven’t done much of is compare, contrast, and settle on which version of games that have been remade or remastered we actually prefer. What better way to start this than with Ocarina of Time and Ocarina of Time 3D. We’re going to toss in Ocarina of Time: Master Quest that was released only on the GameCube as well, simply because it’s vastly different from the Master Quest that appeared in the 3DS version…

The Sheikah tribe is one of the most mysterious aspects of the Zelda franchise. We’ve really only ever seen two members of the tribe throughout the series, even though it is often implied there were many at one point. Impa and Sheik are the only members we’ve seen, so what happened to them all? That’s exactly what YouTuber Commonwealth realm explores in his latest theory. It explores where the Sheikah came from and their extremely interesting but unheralded history, connecting the handful of loose information we have together to make coherent sense…

Some would argue the most important part of the home is the bathroom. Everyone has to use it eventually and it can even offer a brief respite from every day life. Kids stressing you out? The bathroom may be your only solitude that day. Rough day at work? Same deal. That’s why when we see a Zelda themed bathroom it can’t be understated how amazing it is to bring something you love into a pretty personal space. Yes, all of that over a place where we relieve ourselves. Crazy, huh…

I know what you’re thinking – man, they sure seem to post a lot about how Ocarina of Time is doing on the Wii U eShop charts. We hear you, but for some reason or another the game just won’t go away. While last week it finally lost out on it’s #1 ranking it held for 4 straight weeks to Child of Light, this week it still holds on to the #2 ranking. Why does this matter? Well, it doesn’t – sales in general don’t necessarily matter to fans – but for Nintendo it continues to show the strength of their 17 year old game. Child of Light fell from #1 to #7, while Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards…
