On one hand, Iwata is preaching to the choir. With sellouts at every outlet that offered pre-orders of limited edition New Nintendo 3DS XL hardware and games with folks also waiting outside of Target on launch day to pick up consoles that were on store shelves, it’s clear that the limited editions performed really well. There is a chance they could have performed even better if there wasn’t an ongoing strike on the west coast, which Iwata confirmed has affected shipments of the New Nintendo 3DS XL. About a week ago, the European eShop announced the release of the DLC costume set for Hyrule Warriors. Many fans were wondering when North America would receive this item, and they are now available for purchase for 99 cents each. Rare are the days when we hear updates regarding the rewards on Nintendo’s points-based customer rewards system, especially physical rewards.  Just recently, the North American Club Nintendo website was updated with three physical rewards, one of which happens to be Zelda-themed. While this is not a brand-new rewards, the scarcity of these kind of updates makes it something to enjoy.

The Wind Waker HD’s box art for Japan was revealed not too long ago. The majority of fans thought very positively of it. The biggest worry among fans was how North America’s box art would look like in comparison. Nintendo of America has released the North American box art and it is not too different from Japan’s art. We just reported on the release of Four Swords Anniversary in Australia and Europe, but we now have confirmation that it is now available in North America as well. Some of the staff have already downloaded the game through the Nintendo E-Shop and will be sharing our opinions on the release soon.
