As a lot of you have surely heard, the long awaited Super Smash Bros. games for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS have been announced, and official artwork of Link’s appearance in this game has been released. While it is almost completely the design of Twilight Princess‘s Link, there are still minor differences which suggest another connection. Hit the jump to find out more!

We’ve recently unearthed a photo showing off a matching Zelda-themed 3DS and Nintendo 64. The 3DS is, as many would guess, the Limited Edition Ocarina of Time 3D 3DS included in the bundle, while the Nintendo 64 was customized with the same design. It is unknown who accomplished such a feat, but they without a doubt went the extra mile, they even went as far as to customize the Controller of the Nintendo 64 as well. To see the picture…

Hello again Zelda Dungeon readers and welcome to another Timeshift Thursday feature! I must express my sadness in not being able to write a feature last week yet it’s great to be back and I hope you will forgive me. Anyhow, I look forward to exploring another iconic area in the Zelda series as this week I’ll be covering a special section found in Majora’s Mask. Let me get this straight first, though. I have never played Majora’s Mask at…

Howdy, and welcome to the next segment of my weekly Timeshift Thursday feature! Most long-time Zelda fans usually have childhood memories either remembering the original NES self-titled adventure or Ocarina of Time as their first played game in the critically-acclaimed series. I fall under the latter category as my Ice Blue N64 regularly loaded up that special limited edition gold cartridge delivering the entertainment and fun I had drifting away form the real world into the land of Hyrule. Sometimes,…

Most Zelda fans were introduced to the world of Hyrule by starting off in the gorgeous Kokiri Forest; at least I was. I’m sure plenty of readers remember slotting in the masterpiece of Ocarina of Time into their Nintendo 64 console and, for the first time, control Link in a full 3D environment. Kokiri Forest was the perfect introduction for newcomers and old-timers to start a Zelda adventure because of its spacious, beautiful environment, joyous themes of its inhabitants, the…

In a recent article by 1UP, the idea that perhaps some of Ocarina of Time’s “innovations” were not particularly original, and Mega Man Legends actually did a few things first. Actually, it added four major gameplay elements nearly a year before Ocarina of Time’s release. Though Nintendo might have done it better, we shouldn’t ignore the PlayStation game that’s often overshadowed by it’s Nintendo 64 superior. For example, though you may have heard or told yourself that Nintendo’s genius came when Ocarina of Time pioneered z-targeting, but…

YouTube team 2010clarky has uploaded their latest creation: a portable Nintendo 64. Not only is this design even more portable than what we generally see, but it is adorned with a Majora’s Mask theme, including the famous styled “Z” that has been present from day one. Though the color scheme of this “Mini 64” is rather basic, the overall design seems solid and the gameplay appears to be as smooth as the standard home console. Hit the jump for some more details!

Courtesy of Patch comes a very interesting piece chronicling a mother’s struggle to rescue the imagination of her eight year-old child after he had been introduced to video games. The story opens up with the boy’s mother lamenting that having entered the second grade, her “son’s brain is already fried.” It goes on to say how it is not the Wii or the GameCube that have consumed her child, but specifically Ocarina of Time, to the point of having had…
