Considering how groundbreaking the original Legend of Zelda was, one would expect that a lot of ideas didn’t make it into the final game. There were no doubt many items, enemies, and gameplay features that were left unused by the time development was completed. Well, YouTube’s Nintendo News Network recently released a video listing the number of unused or unreleased pieces of content in the NES classic…

For fans that want to see exactly how the NES was completed and perhaps try the project for themselves, devastator006 has included step-by-step images as well…

Not all of us were around for the release of The Legend of Zelda on the NES back in 1987. I know that I personally wasn’t introduced to the series until the release of the Oracle games, while many others started off with Ocarina of Time.
