As I have said in the past I am always on the lookout for new and interesting Zelda related things, but this time I found something fairly creative. A member of the Chicago Improv named Bacon has recreated the rail “L” map of Chicago in the form of the overworld map from A Link to the Past. The picture perfectly recreates the look of the overworld only the various roads are rail lines with rupees representing the stops and each…

I am always looking out for interesting creations by fans of Zelda, and even more so when it involves my favorite entry in the series. Reddit member Illumafire recently posted a few pics of their latest project, a recreation of the map from A Link to the Past built in Minecraft. Many of the original locations found in the game have bee perfectly remade however the map is still incomplete. Right now it mostly encompasses the far western half of…

Why does paying the rent have to be such a monotonous task? Reddit user the-worm-your-honor found an extremely creative and fun way to present his month’s rent to his friend. Instead of paying in a normal way, he built a treasure chest from wood, complete with metal accents and sound effects. There’s even a map to go along with it which shows their home as if it were a dungeon. To see the complete process of how the-worm-your-honor surprised his…

The story behind this episode is a fun one, and if you caught me record and edit this live, then you know the story. For those who missed out, you can watch me record the Countdown live over at our Twitch.tv page. In addition to various gameplay from the Zelda Dungeon Staff, you can now catch live recording sessions and see what goes into making the Countdown. This time around I fire off ten things I want to see in…

Overworld. This is a common video game term used when discussing adventure titles and RPGs, and as such it is frequently used in Zelda discussions. Wiktionary defines “overworld” as: Noun: In certain video games, the space connecting disparate towns/dungeons/levels. It can encompass the entire world, but doesn’t necessarily have to. So by definition, any area that cannot be classed as one of the “safe areas” (towns) or the dangerous caves, tunnels and fortresses through which you battle (dungeons, levels) is…

Being a major video game series, Zelda has a lot of fan artwork and fiction created by its large fanbase, but every once in a while you see something really fantastic like this, which you can view here (thanks go to the guys at Zelda Chronicles for finding this first). This is an amazing piece of artwork illustrating an authentic map for the overworlds of both the original Legend of Zelda and its sequel Adventure of Link. It’s incredibly detailed,…

Left 4 Dead Zelda Map

February 05 2011 by Jacob Green

I recently found this video of a custom map in Left 4 Dead. The map seems to recreate Level 1 from the Legend of Zelda. The map even includes a giant 3D Aquamentus! (derp) Unfortunately this one only has one head, but you can see this creature at the beginning of the video from YouTube user EggyandMe. In an earlier video (here; about 5 minutes in) you can see wall masters moving around the room. They don’t behave quite like…

Alrighty, guys! Unlucky #13! Weird stuff might happen this time because of the unlucky number. Wonder what, though? And hey, 13 questions! Most I’ve ever answered! About half the questions are Zelda Wii related, which should be a relief to those who didn’t like the Zelda Wii focus last week. Enjoy! Questions and their timestamps: (00:19) – Do you think Twilight Princess’ bosses were big to hide how easy they were? (01:15) – What do you think of the original…

Hey there guys! Got a new discussion video for you! In order to keep something of a Zelda Wii theme this week, I’ve made a Zelda Wii video to go along with the Zelda Wii themed mailbag earlier this week. This video is a list of things I’d like to see in Zelda Wii, and in some cases I discuss the merits and the likelihood of seeing these come true. It’s quite packed, actually. Some of the subjects I cover…
