Since it was confirmed that the Dark World would be appearing in A Link Between Worlds, I was always suspicious as to whether it would be the same Dark World as A Link to the Past. I had heard others talking about how it couldn’t be the same world, as the Dark World from A Link to the Past was reverted back to the Sacred Realm at the end of the game. It has since been confirmed that Lorule is…

Nintendo has recently updated their Official Japanese A Link Between Worlds site and with the new update come all new peeks at the contents of the game. Within the latest update we get two new videos covering some new unrevealed content. The first video displays the gameplay in various locations and shows a few portals between Hyrule and Lorule. The second video shows the introductory story for the game however it is in Japanese. Also included in the update is…

As we near the release of A Link Between Worlds, speculation about what Lorule actually is, and how it will tie in to other alternate dimensions in the Zelda series has been increasing. My personal theory is that Lorule is actually Termina, but in the Fallen Hero Timeline. To read more, hit the jump!

Zelda’s iconic themes of the past are frequently seen returning in many forms throughout later games. A Link Between Worlds, the newest title in the series, has shown to follow this trend, with trailers consistently showing new renditions of songs from its prequel A Link to the Past. The incorporation of remastered yet familiar music has become a staple in more recent games, but despite the widespread love for the tunes of A Link to the Past, it is still…

When Nintendo announced “A Link to the Past 2”, and even when it was called A Link Between Worlds, I think most of us assumed the second world was just the Dark World (or at least, I did!), considering that it looked exactly the same and had the same enemies and the same music. When Nintendo said it would have a kingdom, I also assumed it would have been established later by either good or evil people who found themselves…

We’ve had

a couple of other articles based on Aonuma’s recent Spike interview, but not much on his closing statement. When talking about A Link to the Past, Aonuma was jokingly asked about Link’s purple bunny form from his trips to the dark world. Aonuma’s response was:

“So in the original A Link To The Past, that Dark World is where Ganon is sealed away, and that’s where Link becomes the pink bunny. Here, the other world we have is actually a completely different other world, so unfortunately, pink bunny Link will not be making an appearance. … But, this time, a purple bunny comes to Link’s world.” —

He may have given a little more information away than intended with that statement, though. He refers to

A Link Between Worlds‘ Lorule as “a completely different other world,” implying it is not, in fact, the dark world of the original A Link to the Past. He also jokes that a purple bunny comes to Link’s world. Wonder who that could be?

Without even a Nintendo Direct to announce it with, Nintendo has suddenly uploaded a new trailer for the upcoming A Link Between Worlds to their YouTube channel today. This trailer features many never-before-seen clips from the game, including our first in-game look at the game’s villain and some new looks at previously revealed characters and locations. We now have a good look at some of our villain’s powers and can get some hint of his intent, and even a glimpse…
