We’re getting a little crazy today and this weekend, as we have two live streams planned, one of which is occurring right now and will be a marathon run through Ocarina of Time 3D by our own ZI Staff member, Al. We’ll then be following that up on Sunday evening with a 3 to 4 hour steam of Hyrule Warriors’ Majora’s Mask DLC! If things work out well for us, we’ll also do a special Valentines Day stream next weekend featuring Majora’s Mask 3D! We hope you enjoy the stream and as always, stay classy ZI fans!

Are you pumped for the release of Majora’s Mask 3D? Is the remaining 9 day wait just way too long? Well, if you know Japanese or don’t mind hearing it, then have I got news for you! On February 12—just one day before it’s release—Nintendo will be hosting a Livestream event for Majora’s Mask 3D over at NicoNico…

AGDQ Begins Today!

January 04 2015 by Sam Mills

AGDQ, or Awesome Games Done Quick, is the Spring event of the Games Done Quick series where high level speed runners for games of all kinds, including the Zelda series, come together to help raise money for charity by live streaming their runs nonstop for a week. January 4th is finally here, meaning the ultra fast gaming has begun! Make the jump to see when they will be running Zelda games!

Alongside the ongoing Zeldathon, another group of The Legend of Zelda fans have been streaming several Zelda games throughout the day, namely ZeldaSpeedRuns’ Relay Race. The organisers of the event rallied up a grand total of 40 speedrunners, including well known runners such as ZFG and Runnerguy, to play through every single mainline 3D Zelda as fast as possible. These 40 players all have one specific game in which they are very proficient, and taking that certain game into account…

The Legend of Zelda fans and gamers in general have always been very active and engaged in raising money for charitable organisations. Some platforms include live speedrunning, general livestreams and real life events, but livestreaming is the most popular and accessible to anyone. One organisation that’s very active in raising money for different charities through livestreams and donations is Fun for Freedom, which is currently hosting their latest event: Zeldathon Relief.

If you want to ask Aonuma about Hyrule Warriors, now’s your chance! You need only submit a question here, and Mr. Aonuma himself may answer it…

For those unaware, there are a couple live streams going on this Friday that will be featuring Smash Bros. The first is from NicoNico in Japan. They will be streaming Super Smash Bros. for 3DS just before the game itself is available at retail. The second stream (and the one more relevant to us) will be hosted by Nintendo Treehouse. They are going to be streaming the Holiday lineup of games at 10AM PT this Friday. Among those games will be Smash Bros. What’s more, a Nintendo Rep during a GameStop conference confirmed that the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U release date will be revealed…

Yes folks, Hyrule Warriors is in our hands. We have yet to really spend much time with it at all. You can watch us live stream the entire story mode for you (with commentary, of course) today starting at 5pm CST. Throughout the stream we’ll have various ZI staff members pop in to chat about the game and to answer any questions fans have. At the end of the day it’s just about having a grand old time. So, how can you watch this stream? You can follow us on Twitch via our Twitch Channel, or you can check out our Hyrule Warriors Walkthrough

It’s now August 14 in Japan and Hyrule Warriors has just released. Now is the time when info will be streaming in, and you can bet that the boys at GameXplain are going to be hard at work covering this. In fact, they’ve got the Japanese copy of the game up and running on their Twitch channel. Want to learn more of this new development? Well, stay on your rump and follow the jump.

I know some out there feel Japan may be going a bit overboard on coverage of Hyrule Warriors (I mean, it seems really popular over there to be fair), but it’s hard to think anything but good thoughts towards the next official stream. I say official, because Nintendo owns part of the company that runs NicoNico, the place that has been regularly hosting Hyrule Warriors streams the past month. This time around it seems perfectly reasonable – the 14th is the day the game comes out…
