A New York artist named Julius von Brunk, known for creating intricate, game-related LEGO creations, has recently built a back-lit mosaic of Link with the Triforce from The Legend of Zelda. The set-up is similar to old Lite-Brite boards, and it turned out great. Check out the whole piece after the jump!

YouTuber ZaziNombies Lego Creations, a man who specializes in building Lego replicas of numerous video game objects and artifacts (a lot of them from Minecraft), recently uploaded a video about his newest creation, an enormously epic Hylian Shield from Skyward Sword, made from over 2000 tiny pieces!

The shield is 51 centimeters long and 71 centimeters wide. Over 500 little black pieces went into the backside of the shield, and many of the details on the rim and on the face were created with Bionicle pieces.

Using five meters of LED night-lights and a hell of a lot of Legos, artist Baron von Brunk has created an awesome luminous mosaic depicting Link, holding the fabled Triforce.

The principle is quite simple, really: like in his ”

Nintendo World” mosaic from about five months ago, the entire construction is composed of one large, hollow vertical panel made from colorful transparent Legos. Strips of LED lights are stuck to one large circuit board on the back; this, in turn, is connected to the back of the Lego portrait. The sprite mosaic opens like a door, revealing the numerous lights and the enormous circuit board.

More information can be found here, and for more of Baron con Brunks work, check out his general, Lego-inspired Tumblr. The man eally is quite talented, and he’s made tons of light-up Lego experiments in his career. You can just stalk his Facebook page for more excellent mosaic sprite portraits.

LEGO Hylian Shield

March 16 2014 by Maanav Goyal

YouTuber ZaziNombies has recently built a life size Hylian Shield comprised entirely of LEGOs. The shield is based off the Skyward Sword design, but to make it similar to his Minecraft style creations he used a more pixel art look when making it. The shield is made up by a whopping 2000 LEGOs,  is 28 inches long and 2o inches wide, and as ZaziNombies himself predicts, can withstand multiple slashes from a proper metal sword. The best way to see…

Zelda has yet another chance at having its own LEGO set based on fan designs. If you are unsure of what LEGO CUUSOO is, fans can submit ideas for new LEGO sets to the LEGO CUUSOO website and the most popular ideas are reviewed each season. One is then chosen to become a real Lego product. This time, among the reviewed ideas is a fun little set featuring Link getting in a fight with an Iron Knuckle. Of course, there…

Does that image look familiar? It sort of should, it’s a game in development that’s taken a  lot of inspiration from the Zelda series. This game, however, is quite in any of the styles of the Zelda games, but rather uses voxels to create the magical world known as Voxelot. Your job, as King Voxel, is to save your queen from Lord Hellion, but only if this project gets funded on Kickstarter. Hit the jump for more!

Almost everyone is familiar with LEGOs — I’ve certainly stepped on enough of them to be. What you might not have heard about is CUUSOO, a site that allows users to submit ideas for consideration by the LEGO company. People submit an overview of their desired set and images or blueprints to illustrate how it would be constructed and how each minifigure would be created, while other users are able to express their support through registry. Once a design reaches 10,000 backers, it goes to be approved.

Fans of LEGO and fans of The Legend of Zelda aren’t terribly unfamiliar with each other. In fact, on several occasions, LEGO sites came incredibly close to successfully producing Zelda-themed LEGO sets. Even though that wish hasn’t come to fruition, one dedicated fan has put together a stop-motion animated tribute to The Legend of Zelda… entirely out of LEGO. With mountains, trees, temples, and even Deku Babas created entirely out of those little plastic bricks, the effort put into making this short film shines through.

When the Zelda series celebrated its 25th anniversary two years ago, the internet saw hundreds of dedications made by fans of all kinds using a variety of mediums. At the time, LEGO stop-motion artist blackjack0014 had plans to add his own work to the mix, but upon taking a hiatus from his work the project was put on hold. As they say, things are better late than never and so holds true here: blackjack has returned to making stop-motion LEGO…

The idea for a Legend of Zelda Lego Set has been thrown around for quite a while now. As some might recall, last year a very dedicated fan took the time to design prototype models and plan out an entire LEGO set for the franchise, however even though the project reached 10,000 supporters, it was turned down with the reason being that it was “too difficult to produce due to the need to make too many custom parts for the…
