Majora’s Mask has inspired many artistic fans to undertake projects based around the game’s iconic masks. Last week, German artist Christiane Göhring launched a Kickstarter campaign for her amazing Majora’s Mask replicas. With a goal of about $2,246 USD, the campaign will fund the creation of Majora’s Mask replicas that will be sent to backers. Different reward tiers will determine the type of replica each backer will receive, from fully finished masks, to unpainted masks, to raw casts for backers to make their own masks…

In episode 36 of the podcast, we talk with one of Adam’s longstanding idols about some of the burning questions in the Zelda community: What makes Zelda II so terrible? Imgur user James Sharp (JasperHams) has conceptualized a series of 3D printed masks from Majora’s Mask. Sharp has created designs for all of the transformation masks, as well as Majora’s mask itself. His re-imagined masks are far more realistic than the masks in-game; Sharp hopes the Deku mask will have an aged tree bark texture, his Zora mask is more aquatically accurate, and his Fierce Deity mask draws inspiration from Japanese Kabuki. December of 2012 was a sad time for Nintendo fans as our favorite magazine, “Nintendo Power”, closed the pages on its final issue. Lucky for us, a small group of fans, artists, writers, and editors got together and continued the legacy by releasing a new magazine heavily influenced by “Nintendo Power”, aptly named “Nintendo Force”. Unfortunately, the news of their existence wasn’t as widespread as some of us would have hoped, missing the eyes and ears of a number of Nintendo fans, including myself. Well, the team has returned to Kickstarter…

When it comes to the Zelda franchise, I always enjoy seeing the ideas and inspirations of fans come to life in the format of their choice. The film will be centered around a very specific scene from my personal favorite game in the franchise, A Link to the Past, so you can bet I’m excited for this one. Here’s how the Kickstarter page…
