Hyrule Warriors took a different approach in their boss battles, notably the ability to move across the entire map in the midst of fighting. The bosses were also incredibly strong, hammering through the large field while destroying structures around them. With the large, open world of Zelda for Wii U, Eiji Aonuma states that he would like to incorporate this idea into the new Zelda. Hit the jump to hear more!

Koji Igarashi, a frequent producer for the gothic-styled Castlevania series, has announced his departure from Konami. In a panel following this news, he talked about how Zelda originally inspired his work on the games famous for their outlandish vampire lore and whip-lashing action. Read more after the jump.

Ubisoft Montreal’s Jean Guesdon, Brand Content Manager of the Assassin’s Creed series, was in a interview with EDGE about the development of the latest series installment, Black Flag. In the interview, EDGE mentioned how much they loved sailing and exploring in The Wind Waker, and when asked how it helped to “inform Black Flag’s design”, Guesdon gave an interesting response. There are many games created with inspiration from the Legend of Zelda series. One of the newest titles of such is Skulls of the Shogun. In a recent interview from WIRED, Eiji Aonuma admits that the “top-down 3D” feature in Super Mario 3D Land was indeed the inspiration for the layout of A Link Between Worlds during production.
