This month, Takara Tomy ARTS, a Japanese toy distributor, will be selling figurines of four characters from the Dynasty Warriors and The Legend of Zelda crossover title, Hyrule Warriors. These toys can be considered official Hyrule Warriors merchandise, as they are officially licensed by Nintendo.

These figurines will be representations of Link, Princess Zelda, Ganondorf, and Lana. An interesting detail is that the Twilight Princess version of Ganondorf has been chosen over his Hyrule Warriors design for the figurine…

Hyrule Warriors gave fans of the Zelda series a proverbial army of playable characters with which to take on enemy forces.  So, the question naturally arose:  with so many characters to choose from, which are your favorite to play as?  We asked the Zelda Dungeon staff this week, and now we’re asking you.  Leave your thoughts in the comments.   Aaron SuduikoAaron Suduiko, Phillips Exeter Academy ’13, Harvard University ’17. On May 4th, 2015, we introduced you to a project by Zelda Universe titled Hyrule Warriors: The Movie. Zelda Universe compiled cut scenes, key moments, and additional voice overs from the Hyrule Warriors game in order to create a seamless movie. Despite appearing in only three core Zelda games as a mount (and in The Minish Cap as an NPC owned by Malon and Talon), Epona has left quite the impression on fans of The Legend of Zelda. She’s a way to move around quickly, circumvent certain obstacles and allows Link to engage in awesome battles in Twilight Princess. In the three adventures she appeared in she has been a faithful companion of Link, helping him save Hyrule and Termina, in…

To celebrate the announcement of Hyrule Warriors Legends on the 3DS during Nintendo’s E3 digital event, as we reported last week a Classic Tunic costume for Link was added to the already released Wii U version of Hyrule Warriors as a small free update! YouTuber ZeldaMaster has demonstrated how awesome the costume is in a 20-minute video of gameplay with the new DLC. Make the jump to check out footage of the new nostalgia trip in costume form!

Classic Link was finally the straw that broke the camel’s back and got me to boot up Hyrule Warriors again. It is by far my favorite costume change for Link to date and I am super glad it was released as free DLC. While I didn’t record a video of myself playing (I am setting up a new recording/streaming setup in my new place when I move in a couple weeks), we do have a great video from YouTuber ZeldaMaster. The video, which plays the first scenario in the game, shows Link is all of his glory. It only gets better if they include a shield with the original cross on it in my opinion…

As was announced this week, Hyrule Warriors: Legends will feature characters and new story elements inspired by The Wind Waker. While extremely cool, some may be wondering where these Wind Waker segments actually fit in the story of Hyrule Warriors. Luckily for these fans, a new Famitsu interview with producer Yosuke Hayashi reveals that the Wind Waker content in Hyrule Warriors: Legends will serve as an “epilogue-like story,” taking place after the ending of the Wii U version…

Hyrule Warriors: Legends was unexpected, but it turns out they had some solid reasoning for bringing it to the 3DS. While development started shortly after the game released on Wii U, it turns out it was the reaction from 3DS owners that caused them to develop it to begin with…
