Bertil Hörberg, an indie developer who gained significant attention as the man behind the Mega Man-inspired side-scrolling shooter Gunman Clive, has cancelled a top-down adventure game that would have borrowed heavily from Nintendo’s Zelda series. He will instead focus his attention on bringing the recently announced Gunman Clive 2 to the 3DS eShop and mobile platforms. Follow the jump for more information on the abandoned project. 

Indie developer Bertil Hörberg, best known for the iOS, Android and 3DS action platformer Gunman Clive, has a new game on the way. Much like how his last title, a western-themed side-scroller with stylized brown-tinted backdrops, borrowed many ideas from classic Mega Man, his next work seems to be a full-out tribute to The Legend of Zelda on NES. Gunman Clive is a budget 3DS eShop title and platformer which was heavily influenced by the Mega Man franchise and has been a huge success story for the one-man development studio: Hörberg Productions, with the 3DS game outselling both Android and iOS versions combined.
