Over the last couple of years, 3D printed objects have become more and more common. This is thanks to a variety of online resources, along with some debatably cheap printer options, that have recently become available to the public. This has led to a vast increase in video game related items and characters being created by fans. Andy Bihlmaier is one such fan, having “brought to life” one of the most memorable characters from Ocarina of Time

Masks are a key motif in Majora’s Mask, but what is the meaning beneath — or rather within — the masks Link wears? This is the second article in a series exploring the cultural roots of Majora’s Mask, focusing on the nature of the masks and their function in the game.

Hello everyone. At Zelda Dungeon we sure are getting tons of news on Hyrule Warriors, which is as exciting for us as it is for you, but if you would like a break, here is another Zelda Artist Exposition. These features are designed to better spread the joy of art throughout the Zelda community and further support fan artists. Today’s feature is a rather popular artist on deviantART. He really does not need exposed at all, but I love his…

I’ve always been more of a fan of the more realistic art styles in Zelda games than the more stylized art styles, because I feel that what is seen should represent the nature of the content. A Zelda fan by the name of Nate Hallinan has recently released some incredibly realistic interpretations of Link’s rocky allies and eight-legged enemies that do an amazing job of representing each subject! Hit the jump to see these amazing artworks!

Among the information we have about the story of A Link Between worlds, we know that the clown-like villain Yuga is capturing Sages and turning them into paintings, presumably whining when confronted by Link about how no one understands his art. We’ve seen all seven Sages, and we know they retain their elemental affiliations. But who are some of these people? There’s the obvious ones, of course. The Leader of the Sages is Zelda. The Shadow Sage is Impa. The…

Ah, compases. Such great technology- allows us to find all of the treasure chests in the dungeon. Applicable to our lives, and used heavily by all of the great adventurers. Finding the New World was really a matter of finding treasure. In fact, as players of Zelda games, aren’t we adventurers too? Of course we are! So grab the nearest compass, find the jump, and hit it to read the treasure inside!

Gorons, the mountain people of Hyrule, watch over the land from their villages usually built atop active volcanoes. The exact reason they choose this location of habitation is never clearly specified, however, it could be that they harness the power and natural heat of the volcano’s magma for purposes of industry and comfortable living (For example, in Twilight Princess, Gorons are seen relaxing in a naturally heated hot spring near the summit of Death Mountain). Contrary to initial perceptions, the…

Every game has a glitch or 12 and a lot of people spend hours trying everything they can to find them. They may just have too much free time on their hands but they certainly make for entertaining videos and these glitches is what Eggbusters is all about. I’ve checked out a couple of videos before for other games I like and, seeing as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is my all time favourite game, I was quite glad…

Outlining the biology of Zelda races is an exciting and daunting task. After my previous article regarding the biology of the Gerudo, I have gone deeper into this study and have developed biological theories on the Goron race as well. Gorons have appeared in every Zelda game released after their first appearance in Ocarina of Time — with the exception of Four Swords — and this provides us with a lot of material to examine in attempting to understand the…

Looking back at some changing plot threads in Zelda games, one of the things I find most intriguing is how much Gorons have changed. When they debuted in Ocarina of Time, they weren’t a particularly impressive race. While Daurina himself became a decent character and a proud sage, most of what you see of the Gorons is a joke. They’re giant, living rocks, but they cower at the slightest provocation and at the start of the game seem completely helpless….
