In yesterday’s Hyrule Warriors Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that we would be able to play as Ganondorf in the game. Along with this exciting news, we also learned that if you register the game with Club Nintendo, you will receive a free download code for the Demon King Costume Set DLC which features two new costumes for Ganondorf. At the end of tonight’s Hyrule Warriors-themed Nintendo Direct, Ganondorf, titled “the Demon King,” was revealed as a playable character. He will use two heavy swords and no small amount of dark magic, with what appears to be some potential time magic mixed in. He looks to have gotten a pretty big makeover for the crossover game. It’s about time Nintendo told us what his involvement in all this was, but we’ll probably have to wait a bit longer to get the specifics on that. Hyrule has always been portrayed as a crime-prone kingdom where young heroes commit reckless vandalism on pots and princess kidnappings are practically a weekly occurrence. The online humor website, Dorkly has posted a short video showing what the land of the Triforce would be like with a modern police force to keep its oddball citizens in order. Hit the jump to watch!

The New York toy fair concluded nearly a week ago, and as all the excitement of new toys and figures dissipates my excitement does not. The fair showcased a select variety of special figures, and by the picture on the left, you can see that these figures are Legend of Zelda figures. These two figures are being published by Dark Horse, who is most notable for their work with comic books, and will be available this July. The figures, as you can see, are expertly crafted and look gorgeous. The two of them are based off of Link and Ganon from Twilight Princess (obviously), with Link wielding the signature Master Sword and the Hylian Shield, and it looks like his hat is blowing in the wind as he courageously stares you down. While Ganon looks pretty upset and ready for a fight, as he looks on menacingly.
