Let’s face it, no matter how much it wouldn’t work out, we all still want a Zelda film. Various fan projects have been released through-out the years, notable ones being the IGN April Fool’s Trailer and The Hero of Time, yet it never seems that they fill our need for a Zelda film, but rather make us want one more. This has led to a small community of various Zelda short films, usually 3-6 minutes long, and they sure do…

James Farr, a YouTube animator, has just released the sequel to his Nintendo/Star Wars mash-up, Super Smash Wars. As in the previous installment, Link Skywalker plays a key role in the story, battling his way through the Nintendo universe to defeat the evil Lord Ganondarth. It is as funny to watch Link in his outer space escapades as it is entertaining to try and identify every possible reference to both Nintendo and Star Wars, so this is definitely worth watching….

A popular comedy channel on YouTube by the name of Mars Rising recently released a fantastic live-action Zelda fan film, called The Dark Mask. It has some great fighting choreography, a decent bit of humor, and great special effects, and could satisfy any Zelda fan with its references to multiple games in the series. Check out the video after the jump!

We all know that a full featured fan film is something Nintendo isn’t too keen on allowing to exist, but fan shorts have always been encouraged and the one we bring you today is must see material. While there have been plenty of great fan shorts over the years, there have also been a lot of really bad ones, but it seems 2014 is starting off right. This amazing awesome short, titled “The Dark Mask,” has some great effects and acting for such an amateur film. If you recall, we ended 2013 with another great fan film, “The Skull Kid.” While different in style, they are both equally fantastic. What are you waiting for? Head inside now!

Youtuber Thanh Nguyen posted a video the other day showing a short Legend of Zelda fan film that he had been working on. He used the program 3ds Max to create this short film and he based the film’s setting off of Skyward Sword. The plot of the film revolves around the inhabitants of Skyloft and the surrounding islands trying to protect their homeland from an invading army and a dragon. Defenses have been put up to try and stop…

Amateur filmmaking group CorridorDigital recently posted an amazingly well-crafted short fan-film on their YouTube channel. Check out Link’s Shadow after the jump, but be warned, there’s some intense violence and those with weak constitutions may want to reconsider.

An absolutely beautiful short-film created for the Asian Film Festival Of Dallas has become a winner for its heart-felt display about an abused schoolgirl who loves the Legend of Zelda series. The film titled “Escape” shows her as an underachiever who gets teased everyday, has no friends, and lives in a broken family yet the way she escapes it all is by slotting in her precious Twilight Princess game and switching on her Nintendo GameCube. By pressing the on button on her GameCube she…

The people over at Somewhat Awesome Films have announced that they are going to start working on a Zelda short. Known for their quality and visual effects, Somewhat Awesome films tends to take a serious approach to the source material; rather than poking fun at the game or doing a base parody, they seem to try their best to create a short film that conveys the actual mood of the game. Zelda Fan Film

Skylight Studios on YouTube has created a wonderful fan film for our beloved series. A group of high schoolers had sat down and created a whole new spot in the timeline and decided to share it with the rest of the world. Watching this film, you are witnessing the events on a timeline a generation or so after Ocarina of Time. Which timeline is a mystery, though; it could appear on its very own timeline, a fourth split. However, to…

About a year ago a short fan film relating the Legend of Zelda Timeline to the Back to the Future movie series was created, and it was a great success. The Youtube Video has since garnered almost 500,000 views with nearly 99% of viewers liking the video. The video took a humerus approach at the convoluted Zelda Timeline and tried to make sense of it as only Doctor Emmett Brown can. In late 2011, the crew put up a donation…
