Eiji Aonuma shared a new screenshot on Miiverse today showing off a new look at Epona in Hyrule Warriors, a new weapon for Link that is part of the Master Quest DLC pack coming out on October 16th. In fact, Aonuma revealed a bit of his own feelings that, unintentionally, got me excited for the future of the series. I know he doesn’t intend for his remarks to be taken out of context, but I just can’t help it…

I didn’t see this one coming, but maybe I should have. The very first paid DLC pack for Hyrule Warriors, which arrives on October 16th, will include Epona as a new weapon for Link. There will be other things included in the DLC, but Eiji Aonuma decided to tease us on Miiverse about Epona specifically. It appears she has a rear kick move and obviously you’ll move faster on the battlefield with her than without. It appears Link still wields a sword while riding her, so it may almost be a dual weapon situation…

Over the past week we’ve been getting plenty of new information about additional content for Hyrule Warriors that will be released soon. Today, Eiji Aonuma, the Legend of Zelda series producer, revealed that even though Epona isn’t part of the base game, we will be able to use her in Hyrule Warriors. Hit the jump to read more!

In Skyward Sword he had his Loftwing, but in the Oracle games he was accompanied by three animal companions. Hello all! Here again is a Zelda Artist Exposition—the series of artist-based features I created to recognize talented creators and share the joy of art. Please feel free and welcome to suggest artists to feature. Just let it be someone you think is quite special. The subject of today’s editorial is Woodland-Mel.

So far we have seen that Link has access to a horse in Zelda U—presumably Epona—and can ride across an open field freely. As of now, we haven’t seen any other potential methods of transport; the footage we have seen is so minimal that the lack of information doesn’t matter because the possibilities for the game are, for the moment, endless. Hit the jump to see what may be in store!

Hello everybody! This is another installment of Zelda Artist Exposition—the series where I feature a Zelda fan artist. The goal is to boost the recognition of their talents. Suggestions for features are always welcome; just leave a comment. The artist of the day is SeaboardBlue.

Every now and then, one of those “what did I just watch?” kind of videos pops up on YouTube, that is just so random and absurd that you feel the need to watch it watch it several times to absorb its strange alure. The lovely medley  on Ocarina of Time, Epona’s song called your horse to your aid many times when needed or even when you just needed to travel throughoutHyrule Field. Have you ever wanted your own shirt with this awesome song on it? Well Teespring has released a T-Shirt showing Link riding Epona and the ocarina notes above it. Jump inside for more!

After a short delay between rounds due to a small vacation I took (called midterms), we kick off round two of ZVS with Epona facing off against Dimitri. The real question is, which one advances to Round 3?
