If you’ve ever played Starfox 64 and Majora’s Mask before, you might have noticed something familiar about the particular order of the five animal masks lined in a row on the masks screen. By no coincidence, Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of both the Starfox and Legend of Zelda series found the opportunity include several Starfox 64 characters as cameos in the form of masks. It’s not unusual for games to pay homage to other games. By their very nature, easter eggs are a small love letter to the games which left huge impacts on our lives, and the Zelda series is no stranger to them. With Call of Duty: Ghosts‘ release two days ago, some people have already found a small nod to another pretty well known series, The Legend of Zelda. In the classic Nintendo fashion, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask contains a receded, but perhaps not so subtle reference to the beloved Ocarina of Time.
