We have already shared with you that you that in a fantastic little mini-game found in the lobby of Tri Force Heroes you can discover some music from previous titles but in a recent GameXplain video they showed off little more of what they found. When the player uncovers a ball that acts as a music box they can hit it and it will play various tunes, including the Clock Town theme. Check out the video of the Easter egg after…

Tri Force Heroes appears to be full of cool, little easter eggs based on other Nintendo franchises. Some we’ve already seen, such as Hammer Bros costume based on Super Mario Bros. and the Cosy Parka inspired by Ice Climber; but there are still other Nintendo references hidden away in the game. Nintendo Life recently revealed on YouTube that Tri Force Heroes has a subtle, but fresh reference to Splatoon in its costume shop…

Yesterday, we shared with you that while our heroes are in the lobby within Tri Force Heroes, and one of them dashes into a wall it will start a fantastic little mini-game. During the game various tunes from current and classic Zelda titles can be heard. While our heroes are playing the mini-game they must keep a bouncing ball in the air by smashing their swords in tune with the music, if they fail the ball will fall to the…

In case you missed it, yesterday a trailer was leaked for Hyrule Warriors. It appears as if the game will be coming to the 3DS, with new playable characters Tetra and the King of Red Lions. However, there is one aspect of the trailer that seemed a little odd to me. After the trailer supposedly ends, there is a bonus scene in which Tetra pulls a gold ocarina out of a treasure chest. What could this mean? Today, we call upon you to hear your ideas on what it could be…

Nintendo fans may as well call this the Year of the Squid because its most anticipated game happens to be the third-person ink shooting break-out hit Splatoon. With less than a week before its international May 29th release, the hype is reaching its peak. In the wake of this excitement, GameXplain has sweetened the deal for Zelda fans by finding a classic Zelda enemy displayed in Invader style street-art on one of Splatoon’s maps. An old school Octorok makes an…

Splatoon‘s release is just around the corner, as it releases on the 29th. Many press have early review copies (including our friends over at Gamnesia, who are answering questions about the game). New discoveries are being made every day in the game and finally a sweet Zelda Easter Egg has been discovered. Except… it’s an Easter Egg that actually fits very well in Splatoon, especially when you consider in tandem with another…

Just in time for Easter we have a fun new video from Semy’s Art showing off her custom Zelda Easter Eggs. In the video we see her paint a Link egg, Majora’s Mask egg, a Hylian Crest, and a Hylian shield. We see the whole process of the Link egg from pencil sketches to finished piece and afterward she even displays all four of them for us to see. Jump inside to check it out for yourself.

Back when Ocarina of Time 3D came out, players were pleasantly surprised when they started seeing secret posters of Skyward Sword artwork behind crates and such around the kingdom. Now, with Majora’s Mask 3D, there is no secret artwork for Zelda Wii U, as far as we know, but instead there are several hidden Easter Eggs based on games and consoles, and GameXplain has made videos covering a bunch of them. Check out the videos after the jump!

For those of you who do not know, the Nintendo 64 version of Majora’s Mask contains a supposed easter egg referencing Star Fox. Masks resembling a fox, a bird, a rabbit, a frog, and a pig are all set in a row on Majora’s Mask‘s mask collection screen.

A recent GameSpot interview with Eiji Aonuma, the director and producer of many Zelda games, explained that this reference was actually not intended by him. However, he goes on to explain that an employee could have orchestrated this easter egg without telling Aonuma . . .

It’s no secret that Zelda games frequently reference their predecessors, and finding these easter eggs is just one aspect that makes adventuring in a Zelda game so rewarding. The latest episode of Pop Fiction, a weekly show about game facts, takes to the Wind Waker to find some hidden references you might not know existed. Take a look at the video after the jump.
