Music in Zelda usually isn’t the type of thing one would headbang to or yell “DROP THE BASS” about, but thanks to Will & Tim of DubstepGutter the Ocarina of Time’s Song of Storms now has an ear-popping EDM counterpart. This version starts off with a play through of the original song, then springs to life with pounding bass and electronic turntable manipulation. Some of Link’s grunts and Navi’s chimings are sprinkled in throughout as well. The best part is,…

Even as it’s gotten more popular, dubstep is still a pretty niche genre. A lot of people dislike dubstep, and fan remixes haven’t adapted the style nearly as much as other genres. Today, however, we have a dubstep remix of Majora’s Mask’s Dawn of the Final Day theme by YouTuber MrRevatic, and it’s pretty darn good. Hit the jump to listen!

…SkrillexQuest. Yes, a new browser based game has been created that combines the mechanics of Zelda with the music of one of the biggest dubstep artists. When I first took over the privilege of doing the Monday Music Box, I told myself that I would make it different from the average remix or cover. While stumbling across the black hole that is the internet, I came across something that just blew me away and was far from average. Not being a fan of dubstep though, I was hesitant, but with the title “BE AWESOME! – Epic Battle /// Laser / Dubstep / Zelda ///” who wouldn’t…

Lost Woods Dubstep

April 20 2011 by Jacob Green

This track, created by SoundCloud user Ephixa, is a dubstep remix of the Lost Woods theme. Dubstep is techno music characterized by overwhelming bass and very fast/tight syncopated rhythms. You can find more of Ephixa’s work on his website, his Sound Cloud profile or his YouTube channel. The remix is pretty tame until about 30 seconds in.
