Hyrule Warriors is now out in Europe, it’s already been released in Japan, and it will be released tomorrow in Australia, but nevertheless, the DLC keeps coming. Yesterday, YouTuber Rif Raff published footage of Dark Link Gameplay in Hyrule Warriors, and Dark Link has never looked so good. You can check it out after the jump. Liam OrthHeyo. My name’s Liam! And I’m a huge Zelda fanatic. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been in love with Zelda’s rich…

As Hyrule Warriors and its DLC packs finally came out today, we finally get a look at everything it has to offer.

A French YouTuber by the name of riff raff graciously uploaded some footage of the Dark Link costume in the game’s DLC, giving us our first real look at what the costume will look like in real gameplay.

The footage is of a cutscene at some midpoint of the game, which shows Dark Link jumping into battle…

Today’s Shulk announcement brought forth new images, including our very first look at Dark Link—a look that is assuredly a reskin for Link himself, just like in Brawl. There isn’t much else to talk about here, so I wanted to bring up how bad I feel Nintendo did with the Skyward Sword look for Link. I love the way it looks on its own. but knowing it is supposed to be Skyward Sword Link… it feels ultra lazy, especially compared to what they have been doing for other characters in the game. Link is a fairly big name in video games, so if anything he is even more worthy of special treatment with new models. Sad times…

Dark Link. The Shadow of the Hero. Even back when he first appeared in The Adventure of Link, players were immediately fascinated by the idea of this dark version of Link emerging to battle against the protagonist right as he was about to claim victory in that game. Come Ocarina of Time, his miniboss battle in the Water Temple became one of the most lauded moments of that dungeon, if not of the entire game. And from that has spawned a number of enormous fans of the character…despite the fact that he’s really never had any character at all…

Hello everyone. At Zelda Dungeon we sure are getting tons of news on Hyrule Warriors, which is as exciting for us as it is for you, but if you would like a break, here is another Zelda Artist Exposition. These features are designed to better spread the joy of art throughout the Zelda community and further support fan artists. Today’s feature is a rather popular artist on deviantART. He really does not need exposed at all, but I love his…

Last week on Fanfiction Friday we covered “Succession” by our fan Kim. It told a story about Dark Link‘s first few days in existence. This week, we bring yet another story about Dark Link, making it three out of four stories covered about this shadowy and mysterious character.

The story is called “The Doppelganger” by ScooterJLM, and it is a detailed look into the famous Water Temple fight from Ocarina of Time.

My sincerest apologies to fans of our new weekly segments for missing Fan Fiction Friday this past week and a half as we try to adjust our teams for our daily features. Excuses aside, let’s jump right back into it with another one of our fan submitted pieces. This week, we are featuring the work of our fan Kim, who tells a story about Dark Link’s first days of life. Click the jump to read on!

It’s been a week full of new features here at Zelda Informer—Caption Contests on Monday, Photoshop Contests on Tuesday, Wednesday saw us start a

Zelda Fan of the Week feature… And we’ve still got a few more up our sleeves. We’re trying to get back to being a true fansite, one that not only reports Zelda news but which thrives on the Zelda online community that we all adore and revel in. There are parts of the fandom, though, that rarely get a true focus: we often share fanart, fan remixes and musical arrangements, and of course fan articles—but it seems not many of us ever talk about fanfiction. Understandably so, to a degree: the generalization of fanfics being nothing but slash fics and porn is not without reason.

But that generalization is just that: a generalization, one which can cause readers to miss out on breathtaking works of art if they don’t seek it out. So in our newest feature addition, Fanfiction Friday, we’ll be endeavoring to locate and share some of the most amazing

Zelda fanfics we can find. You can head to the comments to point us towards some of your own favorites, but today we’ve already got our selection. When talking about Zelda fan stories, there is really only one way you can start it off: with one of the most detailed, well written, and fascinating tales of the fandom.

…Why not write a fanfic about Dark Link?

With that thought began one of the greatest epics that we fans have been graced with—ELOZE: Tale of Two Thousand Years.
