We’re approaching the one-year anniversary of Nintendo Switch Online’s launch; for Switch owners who subscribed to the service at launch, their yearly subscription will likely be ending soon. Nintendo could have just the thing to get people to re-subscribe – Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) games!

FCC filings released today are speculated to be Switch-compatible SNES controllers. The filings don’t reveal much, but as Engadget points out, it does show that that the controller will have Bluetooth functionality. They go on to examine the image provided alongside the listings, noting that there appear to be ZL and ZR buttons at the top, or perhaps a docking rail.

Naturally, if this controller is in the works, we have to wonder if SNES games will soon be released on Nintendo Switch Online, as has been rumored for some time. This is all speculation, however. It remains to be seen if Nintendo even plans to create an SNES-style Switch controller.

What do you think about these FCC filings? Do you think we might get an SNES-style Switch controller soon alongside SNES games on Switch Online? Sound off in the comments below!
