Everyone is here, and apparently everyone is pre-ordering.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is poised to be one of the biggest game releases in the Nintendo Switch’s lifetime. While the recent Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee had an impressive opening weekend with more than 3 million unit sold, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is shaping up to potentially be bigger than the famous yellow rat.

On Twitter, Nintendo reports that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the best pre-selling game for the Nintendo Switch, beating out stiff competition from lauded games like Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, along with popular franchise entries like Pokemon‘s Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee.

It will be interesting to see what those pre-order numbers will mean for the first week of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sales (the game releases on December 7th 2018). Will people who haven’t pre-ordered the game still go out to buy it? Or will the pre-orders represent the bulk of the audience?
