With no E3 and the fate of the next Nintendo Direct uncertain, things may seem rather dry for Zelda fans; though that needn’t be the case with the now-running Summer Games Done Quick 2022.

Summer Games Done Quick, or SGDQ, is an annual speedrunning marathon which raises money for charity. SGDQ, the sister event to the annual Awesome Games Done Quick, is organized by Games Done Quick, which has been raising money through speedruns for over 10 years.

This year’s SGDQ event, which will be running for the next seven days, sees three Zelda games brought to the table. Monday, June 27th features an Any % Glitchless run of Link’s Awakening‘s (2019). Friday, July 1st, sees both a randomizer and Nintendo 64 beta showcase run of Ocarina of Time. Finally, Saturday, July 2nd features an All Dungeons run of The Wind Waker on the Wii. Note that the aforementioned times are based on EST.

The event also features games from many other franchises, such as Metroid Dread, FINAL FANTASY X, and Elden Ring. To view a full list of the games, runs, times, hosts, and narrators, visit this year’s schedule here.

SGDQ 2022 will run from Sunday, June 26th to Sunday, July 3rd, so there’s plenty of time to get in on the fun. Livestreams are featured on the GDQ homepage and Twitch.

The live event is completely free to view, though donations are accepted and are given directly to charity. This year, all donations and funds for SGDQ merch from The Yetee and Fangamer are directed to Doctors Without Borders, a humanitarian aid organization providing life-saving services to people in over 70 countries.
