The Twilight Princess DLC for Hyrule Warriors, which gave us the Postman outfit for Link and the addition of Twili Midna as a playable character, released yesterday, meaning that we can finally get a good look at the different things it adds to the game. We’ve already seen tons of footage of Postman Link, but we still haven’t taken a good look at the way Twili Midna will handle as a character in the game.

YouTuber swillo uploaded some footage showing us a level played entirely with Twili Midna, that gives us a good understanding of the way that she will play. As you can see, she uses the Mirror of Twilight, as well as Zant‘s hand from the Palace of Twilight, as her main weapons, and seems quite powerful. She even summons the cannon used in Twilight Princess to shoot Link up to the City in the Sky, which is one of her strongest attacks. Another tactic consists of using a circular force field that selects all the enemies around her, and instantly killing all the enemies trapped inside the circle in a manner similar to Link‘s main attack as a wolf in Twilight Princess.

Graphically, she looks very nice; essentially it’s an HD version of her design in Twilight Princess, which is great. The animation and pattern on her cape look very good, and I like her use of the Mirror of Twilight as a main weapon. Also, unlike most of the characters in the game she moves by floating along towards the enemy in a style reminiscent of Darth Vader from Star Wars, which I think is a very nice aesthetic touch; it certainly makes her seem faster and more powerful than the enemies around her and on a higher level than other fighters in the game.

While I haven’t personally played as her in the game, I look forward to doing so very much; this footage makes her seem like one of the strongest characters, and I love all the small references to Twilight Princess in her arsenal. We never got to see her much in the original game, so I’m glad she’s receiving the spotlight in Hyrule Warriors, as her character always had so much promise to be something more.

What about you all, are you planning on buying the DLC? Have any of you played as her already? Do you like her design? Let us know in the comments below!
