SNES Games, Including A Link to the Past, Coming to Nintendo Switch Online

After months and months of speculation, Nintendo finally announced during today’s Direct event that SNES games will be coming to their Switch Online service. Twenty classic Super Nintendo titles, including A Link to the Past, will launch for the service on September 5th. And Nintendo promises that even more games will be added to the lineup in the future.
With this update, fans will be able to enjoy SNES games on Nintendo Switch Online much like they can with the service’s library of NES games. Local and online multiplayer will be supported for some games, and Switch Online’s much-praised rewind feature will be available.
To celebrate the arrival of SNES games on Switch Online, Nintendo is also offering a Super Nintendo-inspired Switch controller as a special exclusive offer to Switch Online members. The controller will cost $29.99 USD. Controllers will begin shipping on September 18th.
