Skyward Sword: Prima Games Official Strategy Guide
Posted on October 17 2011 by Mases Hagopian
The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword is set to release on November 20th here in the United States. Much like with every major Zelda release in the last 5-years, Prima Games will be offering two versions of their strategy guide. There is the standard strategy guide, as well as the hard-cover collector’s edition version packaged with some extra goodies.
Now, this particular guide holds a special place in my heart. I’m a huge collector of Zelda strategy guides and I have over 150 different guide books in several different languages. However, back in August of this year, my fellow Zelda Dungeon Webmaster Caleb and I received a job offer from Prima Games to author this exact strategy guide. After carefully considering the offer, Caleb and I decided to decline for a variety of reasons, but we were grateful that Prima Games, and indirectly Nintendo of America, would offer a fan website like ours the honor of authoring the official guide. Well, a few months have passed and here we are promoting a guide that we could have authored! Jump inside to find out some more details.
The regular edition is set to retail for $24.99 and here is what GameStop had to say about the standard edition.
- Explore Skyloft and beyond with our fully labeled maps of the game world and all dungeons.
- Puzzles are more challenging than ever, but we help you solve them all with our detailed walkthroughs!
- Equip yourself for adventure with our complete stats on the game’s massive selection of items and rewards, plus a comprehensive guide to upgrading all your equipment.
- Vanquish every fiendish new enemy and conquer every boss battle with our combat tactics.
- Find every Heart Container and collectible with the help of our checklists!
- Tips and strategies for all finding all secrets, mini games and special areas!
- Bonus poster included!
The special collector’s edition is set to retail for $39.99 and has all the same features as the standard version. The only difference that GameStop had to say about this version can be seen below.
- “Hardcover collector’s edition includes bonus cloth map of the surface world!”
Being the crazy Zelda fan that I am, I’m definitely going to pick up both a regular and collector’s version. The bonus maps are always fun and Prima Games has done quite the job with their guides in recent years. While we will be providing a Skyward Sword Walkthrough ourselves, we still strongly encourage you all to pick up the official guide on day one when you grab the game. Heck, why not even pre-order your copy of the guide when you go to pre-order your game!
