Some fans dreams of an HD version of this game will still have to be put on hold. After the massive news that all but confirmed Twilight Princess HD, we have learned that Skyward Sword is likely coming to the Wii U as one of a few new Wii virtual console titles. Along with Skyward Sword will come Mario Galaxy and Metroid: Other M. All of this comes from the NUS game list which is essentially the official Wii U game listing database. All titles present on it were put there by Nintendo. Prior Wii virtual console leaks have come from this list and so far every title that has previously been listed on this list has released. While none of this constitutes a full confirmation, it’s about as close as any of us can get until Nintendo decides to let us in on it.

It was probably a bit much to hope we could get Twilight Princess HD and Skyward Sword HD for the series’ 30th anniversary, but we can certainly settle for Hyrule Warriors Legends, Twilight Princess HD, and Zelda U. Assuming that all of those titles release next year of course, which is a pretty big leap altogether. We can keep hoping, right?

Are you excited that Skyward Sword is likely heading to the Wii U eShop?
