Skyward Sword is filled with references to pretty much every single other Zelda game in the series. We obviously know that Skyward Sword is a distant prequel to Ocarina of Time, but there’s also a couple of Easter Eggs to be found in Skyward Sword connecting it to Ocarina of Time. Note, this will contain some Spoilers from this point forward, so skip ahead if you haven’t beaten the game just yet.

So you see that image to the left? It’s the Chamber of Sages from Ocarina of Time. The Triforce symbol is in the middle, surrounding by the 6 Medallions that Link gets. Well… the Triforce and 6 Medallion symbol can be found in Skyward Sword! In fact, if you notice it early enough in the game, it will give you a hint of things to come! Make the jump for a video and further analysis.

HEAVY SPOILERS, BEWARE!

The video you see above is taken at the very end of the game, after the Goddess Statue drops down from Skyloft into the Sealed Grounds. If you look at the ceiling that connects the Sealed Temple and the Goddess Statue, you can see the six medallions from Ocarina of Time! Furthermore, the video doesn’t do a good job showcasing it, but the triforce symbol can be found in the center of the ceiling here.

What’s cool about this particular Easter Egg, is that it’s right there from the beginning of the game. If you take the pathway up to the Goddess Statue in Skyloft at the beginning of the game, just before you enter the Goddess Statue Courtyard, look at the top of the structure here and you’ll find three of the medallions and two pieces of the triforce here. Now when you head down to the Sealed Grounds, if you look just above the door that leads to the Sealed Temple, you will find the other three Medallions and the third piece of the Triforce.

So really, if you were incredibly observant and made this connection from the beginning of the game, you could have pieced together the fact that the Goddess Statue would eventually drop down to the Sealed Grounds below. Furthermore, this could have theory interpretation. Is it possible that this area is the foundation of the Chamber of Sages in the future? The Chamber of Sages is obviously connected to the Temple of Time, but that’s all the way in the Lanayru Desert portion of the overworld. Who knows though, since the Gate of Time gets wrecked at the Temple of Time, perhaps the Temple of Time permanently moves tot he Sealed Temple in the future?

I’m just rambling at this point, but it’s always fun to speculate and piece together what these Easter Eggs could potentially mean. So did you notice this Easter Egg? Do you think it has any connection with the Chamber of Sages? Let us know in the comments below.
