Skull Kid is an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

Recently on Miiverse, it was announceed that Skull Kid and Majora’s Mask were going to make another appearance in an upcoming Nintendo Game. Apperently they are making an appearance in the upcoming title, Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS. They were announced by Sakurai from the Super Smash Bros. directors room in a post on the Miiverse website. Hit the jump to see the the post.

According to the post, Skull Kid and the Majora’s Mask are going to appear as only an assist trophy and not a usable character. The post includes a screenshot of Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS, showing the assist trophy in front of the Skyloft Battle Area. Here is the post:

This is a cool little reappearance of a friend we haven’t seen in a long time. It gives me hope that it is a hint toward either a “Majora’s Mask HD” or a “Majora’s Mask 3D”. What do you think? Is this a cool little easter egg? Let us know in the comments!
