The sounds of Ocarina of Time are unmatched by any game in the Zelda series. The themes are beautifully simplistic and carry heavy emotional undertones. In my opinion, Ocarina of Time’s music is perfect for expressing one’s own musical style. I love to hear different artists’ renditions of songs from this game, and InstrumentManiac’s flute cover of the main theme may be my absolute favorite.

InstrumentManiac is a YouTube musician with flute covers inspired by video games, television shows, and major pop songs. This Ocarina of Time cover, however, goes above and beyond and showcases their well-rounded musical abilities. Their version of the main theme intertwines the dreamy sounds of a wooden flute, pedal harp, and a full string section. These instruments work together to perfectly emulate the main theme that we all know and love, but with greater depth than the original.

This cover is a part of a larger music album, Oracle of the Flute, Vol. I. The album has a total of four covers from four different Zelda games. Ocarina of Time’s main theme is accompanied by “Nayru’s Song” from Oracle of Ages, “Ballad of the Goddess” from Skyward Sword, and “Ballad of the Wind Fish” from Link’s Awakening. This album is available for purchase on Amazon for $3.96 USD, or you can listen in with Amazon Music. You can also support InstrumentManiac’s newest album by listening on Spotify and iTunes.
