Before his untimely passing in 2015, late Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata was instrumental in many game and console releases, and was both a strong pillar and a beloved friend within the company and worldwide. A talented programmer and a passionate leader, he worked heavily on games and hardware pertaining to the 3DS, Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo Switch. A book compiling development interviews conducted by Iwata, as well as conversations with Shigeru Miyamoto and Shigesato Itoi, was released in Japan in 2019. Finally, the book has been slated for release in the US and UK this coming April.

Translated into English, Ask Iwata is 176 pages long and delves into the economic philosophies, leadership necessities, and developmental creativity that Iwata had accrued during his wide experiences. Derived from a series of interviews entitled “Iwata Asks,” the book offers insightful glimpses into Nintendo and the production processes that the company undergoes, as well as the particular mindsets and decisions of key developers.

Ask Iwata will release on April 13th in the US for $22.99 USD and April 15th in the UK for £18.99 GBP. It is currently available for pre-order here.
