The box artwork that you see to the left is being rumored as the European box artwork that will appear for the non-special edition version of the game. This would be more inline with what Nintendo has done in recent years as Europe always gets the brighter and more colorful artwork. We saw this with Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and most recently with Ocarina of Time 3D. This box artwork comes from the French gaming website Gamekyo.

We haven’t heard from Nintendo of Europe just yet, so this is still floating around as a rumor. I’m personally skeptical of this rumor at this point because of the subtle differences between this art and the bundle version. In particular, the bundled special edition has a provisional under its rating, while this regular edition version does not. That seems a bit inconsistent for my liking. There are also some inconsistencies with what the side of the boxes shows when comparing the two boxes side by side, making me believe this is just a fan created box artwork. I could very well be totally wrong and this could be official. We’ll keep you informed once we know for sure.

Skyward Sword is set for release on November 18th in Europe and November 20th here in North America. There has been release dates announced yet for the folks in Japan, Australia, or other regions.
