Over the past year, rumors of new Switch models have been rampantly circulating. Each month brings new information, adding more believability to the rumors. And just yesterday, more headway was seemingly gained. Listings from Chinese gaming accessory maker HonSon were spotted for products designed for a “Nintendo Switch Mini”, including carrying cases and screen protectors.

Nintendo Life has reached out to HonSon about the listed products, and a representative of the company issued a response. Apparently, the company has “secret” information that they based those products around, but they they are awaiting official confirmation from Nintendo that the Switch Mini is in development before actually putting their products into production.

To be honest, I don’t know much about the production process of gaming accessories, but I feel like a general rule of thumb should be not to list accessories for a product that isn’t yet confirmed to exist. Although, there have been enough rumors this year alone to make one wonder if we’re on the brink an actual reveal of new hardware, especially after the most recent Wall Street Journal report on the matter.

At this point in time, we can’t know for sure whether or not HonSon’s “secret” information is accurate. These listing should be treated as nothing more than speculative until Nintendo makes an official announcement.

Do you think we will be getting the Switch Mini before this year is over? Is the culmination of rumors a good sign that it’s really in development, or are you skeptical still? We’re interested to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
