Robin E. Kaplan Draws Zelda

Popular video games inspire artwork. A lot of artwork. But I think we have something that’s not so commonly seen in this creative hobby: The Legend of Zelda drawn by a children’s book illustrator. Though all illustrators have their own style, there’s something about all children’s book pictures that’s special in a much different way than all of the other content out there.

Inspired by cultural greats such as Final Fantasy, Doctor Who, Alice in Wonderland, and of course The Legend of Zelda, Kaplan’s work is displayed (and for sale) on Etsy. Hit the jump for more!

While it doesn’t appear that there are a lot of illustrations based on The Legend of Zelda, the amount of drawings on Kaplan’s Etsy profile is astounding. Even if you’ve moved past that stage where you enjoy the pictures that fill the pages of children’s books (I certainly haven’t grown tired of them), I encourage you to spend a few minutes browsing her work. In your trip back to your own childhood, you may find something you really like!

What did you think of her work? Did anything in particular stand out among the sea of illustrations? Share it with us in the comments below! (I really liked The Girl Who Waited!)
