In the (very) recent Super Smash Bros. for Wii U livestream, they showed off Ridley’s appearance in the game. Although he’s not a character you will be able to select from the item select screen (as many fanatics hoped he would be), if you play on Pyrosphere, the level in which he appears, Ridley will show up swooping in from the background as an interactive element of the stage. What makes his appearance better, though, is that if a player attacks him often enough he will join sides with that player, and will be able to change sides depending on who was the last person to hit him the most. This seems like a very interesting addition to the game, also incorporating a very tactical element into the map.
