The original installment of The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment System is quite challenging by modern standards. Those with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription can experience the classic for the first time (or for those of us born in the golden era — a trip to nostalgia town). No matter a player’s level of experience, they’re likely to face a game over before the end of their journey. For those of us who have — um — experienced it more than once, the music that greets the player is quite familiar. Perhaps even sentimental. Now thanks to Aaron Grubb, players can experience this melody afresh, without the rage-quitting or despair!

For those unfamiliar, Grubb has this to say as his introduction, “I’m from Walla Walla, WA and create cinematic music, rock music, and The Legend of Zelda cover songs! I plan to release more music and maybe some videos soon! Let me know what kind of videos you’d like to see.” Grubb has covered quite a few fan favorites from Zelda, such as “Dragon Roost Island,” “Lon Lon Ranch,” and “Kakariko Village.”

As with previous music covers, Grubb collaborated with a visual artist to pair a custom creation with the song. The art and Spotify Canvas for this collaboration are created by Holly, a hobby artist who also shares a love for Zelda.
