In addition to the Spirits and the Smash Ball, one of the most iconic items in the Super Smash Bros. series is the invitation envelope. First introduced in the E3 2013 trailer for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U, this small envelope with a red seal means that a higher power (ie. Sakurai) has chosen a particular character to be a part of the legacy of this long-running fighting franchise. It has even been used more often in character reveal trailers in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, in which many characters usually fight for the invite and for their spot on the Smash roster.
According to the official Japanese Super Smash Bros. Twitter account, My Nintendo users in Japan now have a chance to own their very own Super Smash Bros. invitation. The gift set, available for 400 Platinum points, comes with three Smash logo-lined envelopes, themed paper, and a set of stamp stickers in the design of the red Smash logo seal.
Orders for this Super Smash Bros. Invitation gift set will be going live on July 15th. There is currently no word yet on if this gift set is coming to My Nintendo users outside of Japan.
What do you think of this news? Will you be trying to pick up your very own invitation from Super Smash Bros.? Let us know in the comments below!
