The day we’ve all been eagerly awaiting for has finally arrived! Piranha Plant has officially been released for those who register their Super Smash Bros. Ultimate games before January 31st, ahead of the fighter’s planned paid release later on in February. So far, the potted fighter feels like a smashing success! Like most fighters, Piranha Plant has a wide variety of moves, all of which fit the feel and origins of the character. Though we’re still left wondering how this guy picks up items and throws them with any amount of force, it certainly doesn’t lack in the power of its moves.

While it remains to be seen how this fighter will fare in the tournament scene, many streamers, including some pro players, have already been showing off their moves online and in Training Mode. So if you’re itching to get your hands on this carnivorous vegetable, make sure you’ve registered your game and check your email for the download code! If you bought Smash Ultimate digitally, don’t worry, your game is automatically registered and you should have the code in the original purchase email. Be aware though, if you only recently registered your copy, it can take up to ten days for the email to be sent out. Smash on folks!
