Happy Saturday, you wretched hive of scum and villainy. I hope you’re ready for yet another entry in Zelda Informer’s weekly Photoshop Contest. This week saw the release of the newest tale in the Star Wars saga, Rogue One. The film promises an exciting space fantasy adventure with plenty of action, intrigue, heroes, and villains. Come to think of it; those are some of the very same things we love about the Zelda series. What would happen if the two franchises met? Let’s take The Legend of the Zelda to a galaxy far, far away this week, as well as check out the winners of last week’s contest: Unexpected Snowstorm in Hyrule.

Last Week’s Contest:

A fresh snowfall came to Hyrule last week, even to places we didn’t think we’d see it.

Winning Entries

Artist: Jobindo the mysterious

Challenge Mode

We wanted last week’s Challenge Mode to put us all in the Christmas mood. This is why our extra rules asked artists to put Santa hats on all characters featured in their entries. And because we saw Reggie Fils-Aimé bring some Christmas cheer to the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon last week, we wanted to see the Nintendo president there as well. Artist TheRedMajora took home the prize last week, showing how our friend Reggie got a little carried away with the Ice Rod over at Gerudo Fortress. Clever touches like Gerudo guards encased in ice, a Christmas Deku Tree Sprout, and many Santa Keese really bring this submission to life. Excellent job!

This Week’s Contest: Zelda – Star Wars Crossover

Just about a year ago, we held a Photoshop Contest that asked entrants to construct a party of Hyrule Warriors characters. But what really attracted people to that contest was that week’s Challenge Mode, which asked artists to include Star Wars elements in their submissions. The Zelda Star Wars crossovers were definitely engaging, so we thought we could make that a full-on contest with Rogue One releasing this week.

The contest this week is to combine The Legend of Zelda with Star Wars. The entire Star Wars saga is open to you, from the original trilogy, to the prequels, to the most recent entries, and even to the extended universe stuff. As long as you show our favorite fantasy video game series meeting our favorite space fantasy film series, you can do whatever. There are some images in the gallery below for you to use, but feel free to use anything you find on the internet.

Deadline: Submit entries no later than Thursday at midnight: 11:59 p.m. PST on December 22. Entries submitted after this Deadline will not be considered.

Don’t forget to check back throughout the week and upvote your favorites, and maybe you will be one of next week’s winners!

Challenge Mode

For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have a few Challenge Rules for you to follow:

1. Your entry must combine a Zelda character with a Star Wars character to create a new hybrid character.

2. Your entry must include a running Super Mario.

Good luck!
