Photoshop Contest: 2016 Year in Review

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen. It’s time for the final Zelda Informer Photoshop Contest of the year. And before the ball drops tonight to usher in the new year, we have to look back and finish off 2016 with a bang. The world of Zelda saw some really exciting things this past year, from our first extended looks at Breath of the World, to the release of Twilight Princess HD, to the drop of a brand new Time’s End album and short film. There was definitely a lot more to look back on from 2016, so let’s ‘shop together some retrospectives. And we can even look back at the winners of our most recent contest: Zelda – Star Wars Crossovers.

Most Recent Contest

The contest took a bit of a break over the Christmas weekend, but we’re back to look at the winners of our Zelda Star Warscrossovers.

Winning Entries

Artist: Golden

Challenge Mode

Taking the crossover idea to the next level, the Challenge Mode was to combine a Zelda character and a Star Wars character into a single entity. Artist PlainMoore accepted the challenge, putting together an epic poster for Star Wars: The Triforce Awakens. Looming over the cast of timeless characters is the sinister combination of the Death Star and the Majora’s Maskmoon. This harbinger of doom is certainly the ultimate power in the universe, spelling a terrible fate for any planet in its wake. Only a band of legendary heroes can stop the weapon, and the dark empire that controls it. What an amazing film this would be. Great job to our winner.

This Week’s Contest: 2016 Year in Review

The year of 2016 was pretty good for The Legend of Zelda. We received an HD remake of Twilight Princess, we hopped on the hype train for Breath of the Wild, and we saw so many awesome projects from the Zelda fanbase. The rest of the world may not have been treated quite as well by 2016, but there were definitely some good things to look back on.

The contest this week is to ‘shop an image representing 2016 as a whole, including elements from The Legend of Zelda of course. You can include things outside of the Zelda series as well — including 2016 Nintendo gems like Pokémon GO or Super Mario Run, or even the bad parts of the year — but make sure our favorite game series is represented in some way. There are some images in the gallery below, but feel free to use any images you find on the ‘net.

General Rules: Submit your entries in the comments section below.
