GameXplain gave us a tour of the Omega version of the Pirate Ship Stage, which returned to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U in the latest DLC. The Pirate Ship was originally in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and it’s great to see it return to the Wii U version of the game. Since Super Smash Bros. Brawl didn’t have Omega stages, however, this is the first time we get to see the Omega version of the Pirate Ship Stage.

The Omega version of the stage is a lookout platform in the Great Sea that has Tetra’s pirate ship sailing in the background. Omega stages are flat versions of the stages, giving each stage the competitive feel of the Final Destination stage. This Omega stage is a prime example of that since, unlike the regular Pirate Ship Stage, you can’t swim around near the ship if you happen to fall off, and there is no cyclone that can whisk the ship into the air, leaving the stage as a bare-bones player-vs-player competition of skill alone.

What do you guys think of this stage? Will you be downloading it? Let us know in the comments below!
