Ocarina of Time 3D: New Features Trailer

We previously reported on the new Visions Mode, the Boss Challenge, and the improved touch controls, but now we can see that all in action courtesy of this new features trailer. It does a good job of highlighting the brand new features.

As you can see with the Visions mode, it doesn’t exactly show you everything you need to do, but has short 2-3 seconds clips that make up the vision. From my recollection of the various visions I saw during my hands on experience, I actually think this particular vision shows more than most of the others. This one is pretty clear on what you need to do and while it doesn’t show you how to enter the Shadow Temple in its entirety, it sums it up rather quickly. Just to refresh your memory though, the Vision DOES NOT appear until you’ve actually tried doing it yourself. In the trailer, it shows Link trying to light all the torches with the fire arrows. As most Zelda veterans know the correct way to do this is by casting Din’s Fire. Once the player tries using the Fire Arrows though, the Vision will then open up, showing the players that Din’s Fire is the correct item to use.

We’ve written a lot about the touch controls and the boss challenge already, so its nice to see them in action. In particular you can really see how smooth of a process taking off the iron boots now is. It’s simply a tap of the button, very much like that in Twilight Princess.
